Subject: Bag o' Swag Confusion.

Posted by: Shadewarlock
No you could not have bought it hours ago. It was 'sold out' under that link up until they released them.

When i bought it it had just come back into stock and said Bungie.net

Bags O' Swag were sold out. BUT Bags of Swag were $30 and in stock when i checked at 2:20.

For clarity's sake, is the unnamed Bag O' Swag in the 20th Anniversary section of The Bungie Store legit?

  • 06.30.2011 1:50 PM PDT

Did you attempt to purchase said bag? Cos i did and it had the '0 in stock' error page on the last step of purchase.

I know it is the case because i sat on that last screen of the order process spamming F5 until it worked.

anyone fancy teaching Bungie a lesson by annihilating them on Bungie day on Reach?

  • 06.30.2011 1:51 PM PDT

Looks like bungie is doing something, the Macaroni statue is up on ebay.

Macaroni is going to solve all of our problems, apparently.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Why is everyone surprised things went to Hell?

Limited amount of bags+thousands of fans wanting said bags=MASS CONFUSION.

I've been stuck at the order screen for about an hour now, updating my order, even though deep down I know that it will never go through. Amazon could at least say that there aren't any more in stock instead of giving us false hope.

This is not how you run a business. If this is Amazon's fault, which it looks like it is, they should definitely have known better, seeing as this whole "selling and shipping a product" thing isn't a strange, new concept to them. If this was Bungie's doing, however, I hope they realize what a huge blow this is to the community that helped make them what they are today.

This is not how you keep customers. This is not how you treat loyal fans. This is how you destroy loyalty and respect in consumers, fans.

Whoever is to blame, be it Bungie or Amazon, has lost me as a customer and supporter. For Bungie's sake, I really hope this was Amazon's doing.

  • 06.30.2011 1:58 PM PDT

I think I might just go play halo reach, and pretend that the bag I ordered was real.

Notice how i said i went to buy one but canceled when i saw it said Gorilla and not Bungie.

Regardless of who's fault it is, I still take my hat off for raising money for a worthy cause and giving us years of excellent games that I'm sure we've all enjoyed, I don't hold this incident against them at least they treat their fanbase better than anyone companies

CHEERS!

What happened is Bungie failed. This is the story of Bungie. They fail, consistently at least, and will always do so. World domination will never happen to failures. One Week left of Bunige on Halo and they wanted to step up the FAIL, so they came up with Bag O' Swag to entice every true halo fan to buy one, therefore crashing multiple servers and putting the bags on a different account or maybe not and who knows? Not even the Fail Masters at Bungie know whats going on, no updates or anything over the 2 plus hours after offical release, only now they have a huge tax write off for charity and will get all the money that goes to charity back so don't think for a minute this people are truly NOBLE.

"Blame stosh'? Really?

I think Bungie knew this whole Bag o Swag would be a shambles from the start, I bet they are laughing their asses of right now about it.

Bungie's world is collapsing in my eyes. The awesome company I once knew is gone.

You'd think for a company that makes so much money and "cares" so much about their fans that they would actually put this item in a production line so every hardcore fan has a chance to get it, instead of dangling the carrot

What *really* happened is the amazon store front crashed. Bags O' Swags aren't gone, but we're holding until we get the go ahead

This is froma twitter update 1 minute ago.

Bungie Fails Halo Rules

  • 06.30.2011 2:26 PM PDT

And the problem is these bags are stuffed with the extra halo stuff they have. Once they run out of surplus, it's gone.

  • 06.30.2011 2:26 PM PDT

order quick they are in stock

quit being so dramatic. Bungie loses all credibility in your eyes because of some confusion over a limited edition store item? they're not even gone: "What *really* happened is the amazon store front crashed. Bags O' Swags aren't gone, but we're holding until we get the go ahead." - from their twitter.

Surplus is intended. Now all the fans are rushing in, clogging up the forums, getting pissed at bungie and amazon, and now we have fans buying like 10 bags and whatnot.

The entire thing is a load of utter BS, If Bungie really wanted to give something to their fans they would make the bag o swags available in multiple countries or at least available in larger numbers.

Nah, this is just one of many things bungie has done.
