They start it off by announcing something that no longer makes ODST the biggest letdown in Bungie history and follow it up with the Swag Bag fiasco.

Seriously, is there any foresight left at this company, or did it all go to 343i?

My name is Cameron. I've played Halo since the good old days of Halo 2. I play mostly shooters and rpg's. No I do not want to join your group, clan, guild, fan club etc. Check my profile for a link to my YouTube page.

They sold the bags with an entirely different Amazon account seperate from the Bungie store, without telling ANYONE until they were out of stock. What the hell were they thinking?

They really should just pack it in for the day and try to start fresh in the morning. Their whole day has been one big disappointment.

I will admit, that was not the smartest move. It's in the past though. Let's move on.

Would you say they need to re-evaluate their life?

:-P

But yeah, given the overall state of the community forum, I feel like today could have gone much better. Though people being disappointed about Aerospace have only themselves to blame.

Charity stuff is great. Public relations on how it was handled was a nightmare.

My name is from Star Wars. Now you know.

Feel free to follow me on my twitter and stalk me.

Well the disappointment shouldn't be really aimed at Bungie. It should be aimed at ourselves. If you're disappointed in Aerospace, it's all on yourself as they stated time and time again that Aerospace was NOT a game or anything extremely goundbreaking. If you chose not to believe them and/or think like a logical human being, it's your own damn fault.

As for the bags being on sale at a random time and the whole fiasco in general, it is technically our fault. We imploded Amazon's servers by F5ing and continued to F5 while they were fixing them. Bungie didn't inform us immediately because of Amazon probably failing to communicate with them and therefore the community gobbled up the remaining bags.

So please, if you think it's all Bungie's fault and they're a bad community-intigrated developer, craimoar and leave.

1. Bungie never once stated that Aerospace wasn't a new game, yet, why keep it a HUGE secret? By keeping it secret, they imply that it's something that will benefit the community. How does partnering with indie developers for mobile games benefit the rest of the community? Do you really think Crimson will be free? These companies are using Bungie as an outlet to push more bad mobile games on the rest of us.

2. You say it's our fault, yet here's Bungie's Facebook post before it crashed:

Bags O' Swag, new Bungie Store items, and updated eBay Auction items are about to drop. Bags are gonna go fast, get your F5 fingers ready!

They tell us to do that knowing how many people are looking for a bag, and they're surprised at Amazon crashing? Again, a lack of foresight compounded even more by not releasing a tweet, post, or update that the new bags will be under a new listing completely separate from the original.

3. I never said Bungie is a bad community-integrated (notice how it's spelled) developer. Ever since the days of Marathon and Halo: CE, they've had the community in mind. However, I feel that after today, they've lost touch on how to treat the community. All these means of communicating with us, and nothing is used.

So I will not "craimoar and leave." I've been here since 2005 (check my older account info: Toadie1979) As a person who has bought every Halo game, every Legendary Edition, every add on, I deserve a little respect. So do the others who have been long time fans as well.

On some level that is an oxymoron (Charity efforts are good for PR), but I know what you mean :P (Thankfully I order [then canceled] and was able to order 1 finally like 30 minutes after my cancellation)

How was that replay value for $60? Oh wait, you haven't played it since September.

  • 06.30.2011 2:08 PM PDT

If you can't beat them, try harder. Never join them.

Bungie said they would not be releasing any info on their new game FOR AWHILE. Then they say they will talk about aerospace SOON. Use some f-ing logic, man.

  • 06.30.2011 2:08 PM PDT

Aerospace would have been fine, but there really wasn't any point in making it a surprise since it doesn't necessarily have to do anything with most of the community.

I did use logic. Logic dictates that because it's a secret and being played up so much that it's something that will be epic.

At what point did I say I thought Aerospace was going to be their new game? That's right, I didn't. Use some f-ing reading comprehension, man.

You sound bitter because he enjoyed ODST more than you did.

And come on, limited number of bags+overwhelming demand=/=efficiency.

While not really in the mood to evoke any more of this meager flame fest, I will say that replay value does not constitute cost.

If you paid $60, and did not like the game, that's your problem. I enjoyed it for what it was. It could have absolutely been more, but it wasn't, it's certainly time to move on.

I enjoyed the campaign, I really did. All 3 hours of it on Legendary. But as an expansion, $60 was still overpriced for what we got.

PPPPPP--POWER!

Aerospace is a business move that will ultimately pay off for the players into the future. Think of it like this, as Bungie makes more money off of their investment in these mobile games, theyll be able to reinvest a larger amount of money into their main IP, hopefully improving their final product. I'm sure we'll see the fruits of this labor; just hang in there.

Make it up to you for not buying something that everyone else had equal opportunity to?
