i will agree with you
i think it would be frickin awesome if they had spartans invade their home planet, but i get the feeling that theyre going to make a peace treaty cus elites were fighting side beside humans in the last level of H2 and the elites hate the brutes so theyll pry team up and have sick babies together and kill the brutes

and then a forerunner will come out and change the story line

Erm...the post makes no sense.

I mean, please spell properly? Then reformat the wording to make a bit more sense? I have trouble reading it, not even talking about trying to understand it.

I think I have it figured out. Someone is talking about their suggestion for the storyline of either the next Halo based game, or the next Halo based book. It's difficult to be clear which one, though. I assume the game.

At any rate, it still doesn't make any sense because there is no "convie" homeworld. The Covenant is just that, a covenant. More specifically, a covenant between several alien races to join forces in attempting to bring to pass the Great Journey.

Each alien race has its own home planet. Good luck destroying them all with a few Spartans.

I never got to read the Halo novels, so I don't know what went on in them, but... there are lots of different races on Earth, so why can't the Covenant all be from one planet, too?

Because it's not possible that all those species could have developed, sentiently, at the same time. One would have had to wipe out the other. The Elites or Hunters, before gaining full sentience, would probably have wiped the other species out.

Besides, they cannot all be from the same planet because the Grunts breathe methane gas. A gas which is poisonous to every other biped in the Halo universe. If the Grunts live on a planet that has a methane atmosphere, then no other members of the Covenant could have lived there.

Don't take everything at face value. Try and see between the lines a little bit, it could enlighten your experience.

Have you not yet had a chance to play through the H2 campaign?

The fore runners are human anyway.

The books point to that, as well as it making sense.

eloquently put, me15ter.

As for his suggestions:

for "convies":

the covies do invade earth. go play halo 2. and the covies werent pirating the POA. they were destroying it. and according to the Cole Protocol, the POA would not have been able to return to earth anyway. as for the camo elites, don't you think those elites might get hungry? or their power supplies for camo might die? or someone might just SEE them? after all the camo isnt completely invisible

for earth:
the covenent's homeworld is high charity. its that big purple space station/city thats in halo 2. The flood infest it in halo 2. and the ship may not have returned to their homeworld. Also, from a scientific point of view, since high charity (before halo 2's end anyway) was light years away from earth, a tracking signal would take years to reach earth, even at the speed of light. therefore we would be tracking where the ship was YEARS ago. Also, who's to say the covenant can't detect a tracking beacon? a radio/other kind of signal transmitting from their ship might be a dead giveaway.

overall... some interesting suggestions, but not only are they unrealistic, but they make the entire story about 4 sentences long. and one of the good points of halo is its intricate storyline... so maybe this ISN'T "wat should have happened..."

I concur.

Please, people, let it rest in peace. Don't bump a month-old thread.
