As for his suggestions:
for "convies":
the covies do invade earth. go play halo 2. and the covies werent pirating the POA. they were destroying it. and according to the Cole Protocol, the POA would not have been able to return to earth anyway. as for the camo elites, don't you think those elites might get hungry? or their power supplies for camo might die? or someone might just SEE them? after all the camo isnt completely invisible
for earth:
the covenent's homeworld is high charity. its that big purple space station/city thats in halo 2. The flood infest it in halo 2. and the ship may not have returned to their homeworld. Also, from a scientific point of view, since high charity (before halo 2's end anyway) was light years away from earth, a tracking signal would take years to reach earth, even at the speed of light. therefore we would be tracking where the ship was YEARS ago. Also, who's to say the covenant can't detect a tracking beacon? a radio/other kind of signal transmitting from their ship might be a dead giveaway.
overall... some interesting suggestions, but not only are they unrealistic, but they make the entire story about 4 sentences long. and one of the good points of halo is its intricate storyline... so maybe this ISN'T "wat should have happened..."
