Subject: Management of the 20th Anniversary

Whoever has been managing the cluster -blam!- going on with the bags o' swag seriously needs to have less jobs. I don't know that I've ever seen such poor communication from any company.

First Bungie and Amazon fail to prepare for the massive server strain that the seventh column ALWAYS generates (remember how -blam!- the first several days of xbox live multiplayer are for every Halo game, ever?). Anyone who's observed how huge the fanbase here is should have seen an accidental DDOS coming a mile away, especially with the asinine "only at 10:00 AM PST" specification.

Then they covertly put up more BoS's without mentioning to the twitter guy that, hey, maybe he should mention that?

Compounding these errors, the secret BoS's weren't even originally listed as Bungie products? Now the store says they're in stock, but there are none left.

Dear Bungie, some member of your marketing department is made of AIDS and fail, or at least hilarious and (somehow, simultaneously) infuriating incompetence.

I'm disappointed that I didn't get a BoS, whatever, I can get similar merchandise cheap online from the hundreds of stores selling non-licensed stuff. The bigger issue is that you have a head-bludgeoning victim running the show.

EDIT: I actually rescind my statement, it's entirely possible that the management only wanted the little kiddies and neckbeards with no jobs and unlimited amounts of free time to have a chance to buy these. If that was your plan, well done! I congratulate your massive success at achieving this goal.

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

It's funny, because the only people responsible for the 'massive server strain' are the idiots who thought it was smart to F5 the Bungie Store and Amazon for hours on end.

I didn't F5 for hours on end. This entire ordeal was a slap in the face to every Bungie fan. I'm not mad that I didn't get one. I'm mad that I wasn't given a fair chance to get one.

That's true, but Amazon has the means to shunt a bit of extra bandwidth to the Bungie store, and Bungie ought to know by now that anything they do is going to have a million followers clicking it furiously trying to be the first.

Those who do not learn from history and all that.

Just because you didn't doesn't mean the other few hundreds of people didn't either.

And what's really a slap in the face is you not realizing that Bungie did all this for a kid's charity. They're never going to see a return on this, ever. Stop being so selfish and butthurt.

A- Yeah, they don't totally get a huge tax write off.

B-Z: For me, the issue is not so much "wah I didn't get one," but "wah, they seem to have a lobotomy patient in charge of this." Like I said in my post.

The bag was released for everyone at the same time. They didn't stop anyone from ordering it. Everyone got a fair chance.

Equally as sad as the initial ordeal, is the fact that the Bungie store (http://www.bungiestore.com/category/69157577201/1/20th-Anniv ersary.htm) still has them listed as in stock. I know perpetual inventory systems don't update immediately sometimes, but with a cluster -blam!- this huge, it seems like they might tell any one of dozens of people who surely have the technical know-how (not that it's difficult to do anyways) to pull the link for the swag bags so people will quit getting their hopes up.

Of course, they may not manage the store in house, but still, its all of 5 minutes of work to get it pulled (if that), and a 30 second phone call to kick that process off.
