But if they're different models/variant's what those this mean? The MA37 (MA5 for Marines and Navy) first entered service with the UNSC in 2437, it has remained the primary service rifle of all branches of the UNSC ever since.
The MA37 series is Army. The MA5 series is Navy. Halo CE's AR is the MA5B variant of the MA5 series.
Also, don't bump your thread. You were given your answer already.
Bungie makes a distinction because they recognize that their weapons look marginally different from eachother between their games.
In Halo 3, they refer to the AR as "MA5C ICWS". Again, this is purely because of the visual and handling differences and that Bungie wanted to ensure that their fans were not confused thinking they were the exact same.

But they're not the same model? I'm asking because of the MA37 in CEA trailer.
343 Industries is just using the Reach graphic engine and -- perhaps -- placeholder models for weapons/characters for the trailer so that they could get it out there in time for E3. They still have a little time before the game goes gold to implement new models, but I think it may be unlikely that will happen.
It should be noted that the soldiers seen in CEA are Army and not Navy, which is totally different from the original Halo CE, so perhaps 343i are retconning on that.
