Subject: Is this a joke?

I woke up at 6 AM PT this morning just to get a bag of swag. I refreshed the page for hours, then at around 3:30 PM PT I decided to do blow the leaves out of my driveway/lawn. I got back just now, to see that all the swag bags are gone. WTF. I Thought they would at least tweet something. This whole swag bag thing is like a really cruel joke by bungie, especially when I hear stories of people who just checked the site for the first time after work and bought several. WTF Bungie.

They should make more, so it actually lasts 2 WEEKS.

I know they are terrible about letting us know what is going on I don't think they know themselves.

  • 06.30.2011 5:09 PM PDT

They had to switch the service to another page on amazon titled something Gorilla which caused a lot of confusion. It was due to the massive amounts of people F5'ing the original page. No official updates were made on the Twitter about it at the time, the only indication was that of Halclyon (sp?) that they were real in one of the topics. It was really chaotic.

There may or may not be any left now, they're still tallying everything up. It wasn't anything Bungie did, they had no idea what was going on either.

They can only make so many due to costs. You do realize that for everyone sack Bungie sells they loose money? They pay for the sacks and their printing then they aren't making money off anything inside. It is all going to charity.

Not to even mention how many employees are spending hours with signatures, store management, shipping/order fulfillment, etc.

There is a LOT of labor going into this. Even those who don't get a Bag o' Swag should be thankful.

Are they donating all of the money they make, or just all of the proceeds?

  • 06.30.2011 6:07 PM PDT

Even though I got one, I don't think is was the best approach to reward the fans, as 99% just end up feeling left out. That said, the fact that the proceeds went to charity makes it OK I guess.

I would probably have done something like asking people to donate £1 to charity in exchange for blue flames or something.

They're hiring middle schoolers for moderators now? Wish I had known sooner, I'm definitely qualified for that.

They'll also run out of stuff to put in the bags.

I thought it was just profits, but I'm guessing its all the money (except costs for the bag printing) since they said some bags are worth more than others, some even have Zunes I think.

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

then at around 3:30 PM PT I decided to do blow the leaves out of my driveway/lawn.
I tried that once. There was a big pile of them in the middle of my driveway so I got on my hands and knees and started blowing. At first it was really hard to control them but after a while I learnt how to get them exactly where I wanted them. Constantly I'd have to change angles and also consciously control my lungs, throat and mouth (which was very difficult) because sometimes I'd just need to blow them a little bit to the left and other times I'd try to get them as far as I can forward, to push them off my property.

After about an hour I was a master leaf-blower. King of the Leaves. It was like I was on a ranch out on some farm, driving cattle. Except I didn't have a horse, a whip, tight bottomless leather pants or even a cool cowboy hat. No, all I had was my mouth and the ability to blow. But these leaves were my cattle and I was driving them all the same.

My strategy was to keep them bunched together and then single one out and blow it all the way down the driveway and off on to the road. This worked and I was great at it but by the time I got to the third leaf I was starting to feel dizzy, light-headed, like I was going to throw up or float away or something, but I ignored it and continued. Afterall, I had a job to do and I wasn't going to give up until it was done. Us leaf-blowers aint no sissies.

So then I passed out right there on my driveway. Totally banged my head on the concrete when I fell. Real hard. Real violent. And then I woke up in a pool of my own blood. The leaves were still there but the sun had already gone down and when I checked my watch I saw that it was well past seven so I got up, staggered in to the house and watched TV. Sure I just left those leaves out there but who cares, right? They're just damn leaves.

I also missed out on dinner (which was macaroni with cheese) which sucked so I kind of know how you feel. But then again I just got mother to heat it back up again so I got what I wanted in the end which might not be the same way your story ends, friend.

Sorry.
