Dude people had a right to be pissed.
Stop being a fanboy.
Oh lawd.
Disagreeing with immaturity =/= being a fanboy.
Sorry, but when someone makes a topic that basically says, "Bungie may have handled today's situation terribly and disappointed many fans, BUT AT LEAST DEY R SO NIEC WE SHUD STILL BEEE NIEC 2 DEM RITE GAIZ!!", my fanboys alert goes weewooweewoo.
Edit: Oh and before you flame me for being butthurt or something, I in fact luckily aquired a swag bag from the bungie store at like 6.
Yeah, we should be nice. They lost a -blam!- load of money on all this merchandise that they handed to us for free, then donated those proceeds to charity. They release that they are going to work with the community to help develop new mobile games, and we have more to come.
Everything they've done up to this point is to make this an awesome time for us and everyone involved with Bungie. Things got way out of hand today, but it also all happened really fast, the fanbase nor Bungie knew what was happening until the Bags O' Swag were gone.
It's not called being a fanboy, it's called being appreciative and respectful towards a friendly gesture. Not a lot of studios go out of their way like Bungie does to ensure the fans are having a good time as well.
The point is that you can't freaking disregard every single mistake someone makes.
Seriously, every single time Bungie screws up there has to be those kiss ups preaching about how we should simply "forgive them" and "remember that they gave us this" and such.
Maybe because we should remember what they gave us. It's not kissing up, it's being appreciative. We weren't entitled to anything here, it was a cutthroat competition to begin with. Things just happened to go very wrong today, due to Amazon blowing up (Amazon, not Bungie).
Sure, Bungie moved the Bags O' Swag to another Amazon account, but they made sure to have someone come here and let us know they were legit. Was it a moment too late for some? Yes. But I doubt there's any one job at Bungie to make sure the fans are in the loop every minute of every second. They could have updated their Twitter, but they didn't. Again, this has always been about who wanted the Bags the most and who was willing to do the most to get them. In this case it was having Amazon open in one window and the Bungie forums open in the other in case I missed any details.
You can be jelly all you want, but the bottom line is they're giving more than they're taking here. Being mad over mistakes that can't be fixed is pointless, especially since 90% of those mistakes weren't even on Bungie's part. I was mad initially when it was all going down, but after learning their side of the story and that not a lot could have been done to help the situation, I let it go. Especially after looking at everything they're giving out right now.
