3's Jackal > Reach's Jackal
Jackals in 3 may dive fast compared to CE Jackals, but they're more realistic since they're subject to battery drain, take time to fire after releasing a charged bolt, have a consistent charging time, panic, have a reasonable shield recharge time, and look better.
3's Scarab > Reach's Scarab
Does Reach have Scarab boarding via Wraith? Does it have scarab boarding in general? Why is the Scarab's detonation and vulnerability missing? The player was expected to race past the scarabs. In an effort to restrict the player's options and keep them in the canon, Bungie broke the realism concerning Scarabs in that game.
3's AI > Reach's AI
Noble team generally have terrible aim. Jorge has good range and Kat has good headshotting skills, but the rest are hardly reliable. And then there's the army troopers. I give a bunch of them rockets and what happens? They blow themselves to kingdom come, even on Heroic. On LNoS, I've had more success with placing 1 rocket launcher army trooper at the cliffs and stationing 1 rocket launcher army trooper near the armor abilities.
Whereas 3, although it's AI was also grievous, was competent to get the job done and was often customizable/controllable.
