Subject: Community you have given us a Bad Name

Did you guys really say who cares about charity that is a disgrace? Also how could you hate bungie. When it is not their fault that you might have not bought a bag fast enough?

Too all those that stood by bungie good for you because you did the right thing. Even if you didn't get a bag you should still be happy with everything else they are doing for us the fans for their 20th Anniversary.

What about the Millions of fans that didn't "turn on bungie" or the thousands of fans like myself who simply didn't give a -blam!- about swag bags?

I didn't follow it because like I said, I didn't want a swag bag, but my impression is that the whole process could have been handled better.

Also it dawns on me there's already a thread on this stuff

It only takes a couple of rash posts to ruin a reputation.

  • 07.01.2011 5:45 AM PDT

I know, it is completely mind boggling that a mostly adult community would actually do this. Even if I didn't get a swag bag I wouldn't be a absolute dick about it. disgusting.

Pretty good theory. This article was probably written by a disgruntled "fan" who wasn't able to get a bag.

My future is certain, I will one day fly away. All because I am saved from the penalty of sin. I know he lives.

I thought that no matter what you got in the bag, that it was going to be worth at least 30 dollars. And that some bags would be filled with a little something else.

What is all the complaining about. If they had made more avaliable, then people would have started complaining about that there were to many, and that now they aren't so special.

"How in the world am I supposed to get top dollar for this on e-bay now. Everyone has one."

This community is forever brain damaged. I've cooled off from yesterday, but I was pretty pissed.

We weren't promised bags, but it was implied that everyone would get a fair shot at it, but it was done with shady weird business tactics. I hope most people know that I wouldn't be mad if I had a fair shot to get one, it would have been like losing a contest. And Yes I know it was for charity, and I respect that 100 percent, but we still wanted something commemorative, Halo has been in my life for 10 years...

I hope they post something on the website, not just another tweet.

Because being a spoiled fat ass always getting what you want is more important than helping the less fortunate...

What a sad world we live in.

This sums up pretty darn good how I feel. I was mad for a grand total of about 45 seconds once I realized they sold out. Then I realized it wasn't something to get angry about and that yea there would be much much more stuff to come. Then I checked out Aerospace again and got happier. I do feel, however, that it wasn't a "fair" shot at getting a bag for everyone. (server lag and all that jazz could mean the difference of getting one and not getting one if they sold out in seconds) What's that saying my parents told me? Oh yea, Life's not fair, get over it. Something I try to live by and keeps me pretty darn happy and pushing along..

Honestly, before you speak you should know the whole story. If not please don't post.

The funny thing is most of the people who freaked out wanted it because of halo, Not because it was Bungie. I have been waiting patiently for Bungie day so these people will move to halo.xbox.com forums.

I read the whole story.

Also, if you were under the impression that my previous comment was directed towards you, it wasn't... I was simply agreeing with OP on the matter, that is all.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I knew this would happen.

People are butt-hurt becuase they couldn't get a bag in time.

People complain about stuff not being limited enough then they complain it is TOO limited.

"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

People will always complain. We're even fortinuate that Bungie sold these awesome things in the first place. Besides the money goes to charity anyways.

DDOS'd Amazon's servers F5ing for Swag Bags...yeah I was there. :)

7-7-11 was another awesome Bungie Day! Thanks Bungie for making halo so amazing over the last 10 years. Can't wait to see what your Destiny will be next. ;)

I am pretty sure I got a bag, unless Amazon is really messed up and takes it away. But I was only upset that a lot of people who were trying to get it at 10:00 PST (and earlier) were watching the original pages, and out of nowhere new pages were created with no warning/heads-up.

I understood that the crashing from so much traffic shut things down for a while, but the switching part is where I felt cheated. By the time I found out about the new pages it looked to be too late. Luckily I checked back a couple hours later and managed to get lucky and get an order to go through.

I still felt like I was cheated out of an chance to fairly get one with everyone else. I honestly just got lucky to try again when I did.

It was just the heat of the moment from all the anticipation of F5ing building up all morning/afternoon, to realize it was gonna be for nothing. That left a bad feeling in my stomach. But I know/knew Bungie was doing everything possible to work out the issues on Amazon's side.

Just remember guys, this was not Bungie's fault. They didn't even have to do this. It was done partly to give something to the community, but also to use that to support charity. Bungie is always positively helping the community, they truly care guys.

I don't think that article portrayed what a large number of us were thinking. In my opinion, it was not really about the Bags at all. It was the way Bungie handled it. We got one tweet that said they are fixing everything then an hour later a random seller named "Gorilla" pops up with Bags. Bungie does not say a thing about the situation for hours. They couldn't even tweet something like "Trust the Gorilla" or after the Gorilla fiasco was over say, "swag update soon". Overall, Bungie showed very poor business practices and the Bags were just an afterthought to poke at while they got their act together. Now I know that they were probably working on the issue and were very busy but they can't get one person to post? You don't even need a computer to post a tweet so even if they were working on every computer they can still tweet on a phone, iPad, etc etc. And you can't tell me that nobody at a multi-million(prob more like billion) dollar company has a smart phone. It was just poor business through and through and I think that is what fans are mad about most.

I agree, the Gorilla thing did not end up well for many fans.
