Subject: We had every right to be mad.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Posted by: MarXXXisM
All I'm saying is if they don't know, why not tell us? Does Urk really do much more than that, anyways?
Tell us what?

I am saying that Bungie was probably completely unaware that the Gorilla link even existed when it went up and probably didn't find out until they started talking about it 4 hours later. It's what Donald Rumsfeld would call an "unknown unknown". It's hard for Bungie to say that don't know WTF's up with the Gorilla link if they don't even know that the Gorilla link exists. And the fact that "their" first reply on the matter came from an employee on the forums suggests to me that they just then figured it out at that moment.

I imagine that Urk has plenty more job duties than F5'ing the forums and Twitter, like dealing with the press (which they probably have a lot of in the wake of the Aerospace reveal) like Sketch used to do.

Well if people have no right to complain or be angry then people have no right to say anything at all .
FREEDOM of speach - remember that.
Every HUMAN has the RIGHT to say what they want.
Thank you, caseyjeff26.

Now, do you plan on providing me with any sort of counter-argument? Or are you going to just nitpick at what I said?

Perhaps, but they would be stupid to do so.

Cry me a river build me a bridge and get the hell over it. No plan is perfect. Yes it could've been done better. But that kind of thinking is for the birds. Just accept what happened and get on with your life.

Straight from the horse's mouth.

With Urk telling us this, I still don't see why people are insisting it's Bungie's fault.

Its both, the people that are ready to kill themselves over the bags and the people that are whining are equally annoying, people need to accept that these were limited edition items, and they were for charity, if you got one, you were lucky and gave some money to a good cause. I freely admit that i got one, but i would not be on here complaining if i didnt. I also am gonna say that i got mine totally due to my own luck, for me, thats what it was. Dumb blind luck. On June 23rd i woke up, checked the store, nothing was there. I chilled a bit, then went out to lunch with some buddies. I got home and they were there, i ordered one... i wasnt F5ing, i just got lucky, thats what Bungie intended. You dont need a bag to show your Bungie support/ fandom AND also, PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE MAKING THIS BIG OF A DEAL ABOUT THESE BAGS!!!!!! THERE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE 500000000 THREADS ABOUT THIS!!!!! These final days of the Bungie Halo community should not be torn apart by a bag full of keepsakes...if you people are "Mature" enough to play an M Rated game, you should also be "Mature" enough to let it go.

I don't see any of that going on. All I see are spoiled, whiny, misinformed children acting entitled, and I see other mature, rational minded people telling them how it is.

You have every right to be mad, but you have absolutely no right to rage like this.

If you wasted an entire day refreshing and trying and get NOTHING! id be pretty pissed too,at least that's my case......for some people its not about not getting the bag,for some it was just THE wasted hours and want something in return...

He's such a bully.

you sir deserve a cookie
I see it the same way, there are those giving logical reasons why not to be mad, and those that cannot get over the fact that they havent gotten what they wanted for the first time in their lives

Tell us that they know as much as we do. 1 tweet would have ended an hour of hostility if they had just said, "We're not sure what it is going on. This is still on Amazon's end. We'll update you when we know more."

As someone who has stood by (and will continue to stand by) Bungie since I was first brought into their world 10 years ago, I was just very disappointed in how this was handled. I know a lot of it was out of their hands, but Bungie has to take some of the responsibility for what happened. I just feel that a company known for keeping the community in the loop dropped the ball on this. I have faith that they will learn from this mistake and will better in the end for it.

EDIT: And before someone says, "You're just mad cause for the first time in your life, you didn't get what you wanted," let me clarify something: I got a bag.

ISU Cyclones!

How about we wait a bit to find out who to be mad at first. Bungie, Amazon, or ourselves for DDOS'ing some site.

Either way even with the miscommunication I've seen bigger uproars about more trivial matters in the Halo games than this.

  • 07.01.2011 9:20 AM PDT

I think everyone can agree this was not executed the best and before anyone trys to shut me down saying "you got a bag" or bla bla. I didn't. I didn't win recon when that was out, I didn't get halo reach beta codes, so I basically got nothing. I believe being frustrated and angry is one thing, and the people who feel that way can feel that way if they wish. On the other hand I saw 3 year members cursing and slamming Bungie because they didn't get one. Saying they were betrayed and left. Now come on that's bull and we all know it. Whats really sad is that aerospace didn't get time to be recognized by those who thought it was cool because too many people were raging about the bags. Fact of the matter is Amazon dropped the ball. SOME members of the community need to calm down and get their head on.

This, but less harsh.

They probably couldn't risk telling us about the new seller ahead of time anyway, cause we probably would have F5 that page to crashing as well. Besides, alot of people (Including me) found it within minutes of it going up. Theres really not much they could have done differently, aside from maybe doing the limit 1 per person on the first wave as well.

Other than that, there wasn't much they could do. Sorry.
Also, it is sad though, that alot of people assume that the people upset about this are ONLY 12 year olds. Its not true. Thanks Bungie! (BTW) xD

Intolerance is the highest level of stupidity and inbred thinking.

While I can understand why you feel angry, I also think that it's a little silly that you do.

There where only 500 Bags O' Swag available. Pretty much everyone figured that out before they went on sale, and then later, Bungie did announce that there would only be 500. Consider how many people visit this website, and how many of them where gunning for one of those bags. Did you realistically think you could get one? I didn't. I was ready to try, but I was also ready to accept the fact that 10,000 people acted faster then me. And out of those 10,000, a random 500 where the fastest.

And about this other website, I don't know much about it, but you guys are approaching this like those fans didn't deserve their chance at getting swag bags. So what it was a different website, everyone had a chance, some just missed theirs. That's life.

I can understand the frustration you all feel. But I don't understand how worked up you are getting over something like this. From the beginning you knew the odds, and now because you didn't get a bag, which statistically you shouldn't of from the start, you're throwing a tantrum.

To me, all of this seems a little childish.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten
