I am confuse. Why is the battle rifle back up for auction? Did someone not pay? Was it donated back to Bungie for resale?

Weta Battle Rifle is back up for auction. Turns out some people think trolling a charity auction is high comedy. http://t.co/z3p1bnt

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Someone must not of been able to pay up.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I can only imagine someone couldn't pay, it wouldn't really make sense if someone said "I just wanted to see how much I needed to pay, you can keep the BR, I don't want it."

Now, if only I had a few extra thousand dollars....

Sucks for the guy who probably could have bought it but was out-bidded by this guy.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Start your bidding!

Probably some 13 year old on his parents eBay account. Sucks for the people who actually were going to pay for it, but at least they get another chance if they see it.

Why would Bungie not do an offer to the second place bidder? That is still built into ebay, right?

Then.....donate? What's the point in buying something for charity, then tell them to keep the BR?

When he was younger, he was the one who always had the jokes and riddles that would keep the spirits of the Spartans high. Over the years however, his lifetime of combat had hardened him, as it had all of the Spartans. Within Will, John thought, something special had been lost.

With those numbers I'm going to assume that the first winner had a lot of money to throw around anyway. Is is possible he donated it back?

The other possibility is that Bungie had more than one. I mean the first segment of Landfall had entire racks full, not to mention how many characters were holding one.

Remember the little event, that Bungie put in a couple plugs for, where you could vote for something...and enter a raffle for a free xbox 360? I think three different people won it before someone finally accepted the prize and didn't donate it back.

It's like a school play, sometimes they have a raffle and the people that win it always give it back to support the school/fine arts program. Just because you win it doesn't mean you have to keep it. Now Bungie can get double the money if that was the case. But I just think the guy didn't have enough.

The beta is super awesome. RogueAssassin27 is now the person who got my Totodile's nickname. Hoo-hah! Relevant.inb4lock

What if someone both got the UNSC marine armor and the Battle Rifle? That person would be ready for Halloween.

While both of these cases are valid towards the idea of some people being kind when they donate. It's irrelevant, at least in my opinion, when it comes to eBay.

Seeing as, for a raffle, you do X you get X amount of tickets, usually always being able to incur more, as much as you rant really. On eBay, you bid to win a prize; its an action house not a place where someone wants to give money.

In either case though, the buyer be trollin'.

That would be awesome! Whoever could manage that would be one lucky Halo fan.
I was puzzled when I came here this afternoon and saw it was back up for auction, I just figured they had another one to put in its place however. Such a lame move by whoever did that though.
