We are all going to get banned aren't we?

1. where the hell did dot come from and why wasn't she properly introduced?

2. what was in the case that Jorge threw down? i was thinking it was his gun but i am not sure.

3.why didn't the Savannah just use archer missiles on the spire? we already know what MAC shots look like.

4.How could dot and the other stations detect ships coming in from slipspace in LNoS but not the SC?

5.jorge implies that the Relay station communicates with other colonies, not with other locations on reach itself.

Carrying old discussion here...

The super carrier dropped out of slip space out of system maybe? We don't know how far away the UNSC can detect slipspace ruptures but we know atleast the whole system. In Halo 2, Cortana says that Regret's fleet drops out of slipspace near Io (moon of Jupiter).

That does not explain how the ship was neither detected nor seen, the UNSC occupied multiple planets in the Epsilon Eridani system.

If we can track house size rock lightyears away i would like to think the UNSC could out do that.

And Regret dropped out slipspace right out of the SMACS killzone. they were detected by IO in system though

People are going to get anrgy about this but...

Please tell me how exactly people can track in space. Is it a radar kind of system or what?

Why would we get mad?

Pretty much NASA points a telescope at something and follows it.

seriously, thats it.

Actually we can't, unless that rock is made of super condensed uranium, and by house you mean mansion. About the super carrier, who says it jumped into range? It could have easily been out sensor range, cloaked itself, and set up shop on Reach. Why not use Archer missiles? Well, the Covenant can jam UNSC tech, as seen in Winter Contingency and Nightfall. Archer missiles are basically like the javelin or stinger missiles of today, but significantly more powerful. When does Jorge say anything about the relay? The UNSC does not have any sort of FTL communication (other than the expensive and prototype-y slip space guns they sent messages with). As for Jorge and Dot, those were more or less plot holes of sorts.

1.I think she controls all satelittes in orbit,as observed when she observs Noble

3.Because the blast radius would probbaly affect other UNSC forces,at least a MAC shot can be fired a low power.

Can't anwser the rest

Except that you forgot that it was invisible. Which also cancels out 'light bouncing off the object and coming back' kind of radar.

in which you forget everything the UNSC uses has thermal

Brains beats brawn get used to it

Fear the Red Comet

Variety is the spice of life.
Long live games.
Death to all fanboys.

I always wondered why Dot just kinda disappears after you jump off the pelican...I guess she only had comms with Carter? Same goes for the Sword Control guy. How he's randomly there during the defense of Halsey's lab was rather surprising and makes me want to think he's more of an AI than a person, but nothing to confirm what's up with that either.

Radar uses Radio waves, not light. Thermal is simply a camera that detects the infrared (thermal) light waves that bounce off of objects.

Now the problem we have is that we don't know what Stealth Ablative Coating and it's covenant stealth counterpart do or how they work. They could either actively or passivly diffuse or absorb the waves that hit it. e.g. It could diffuse light in a way that it dosen't become blurry or "trap" the light so it dosen't return and send out a different signal.

1. I'm pretty sure she's just the UNSC AI assigned for military of Reach

2.Not sure what you're talking about...

3.I was thinking this myself. They would've only had to use 1 out of their 1400 missles. Heck, they could've the 50mm point defense turrets if they wanted to.

4. ^^^^ Answered above (incompletely) ^^^^^

5.Prolly. Idk if there's only one for the whole planet.

I finaly can come to a conclusion and believe that there is a plot hole in Reach. There really isn't any way to advert the heat emitted by the shields and camo, yet the UNSC uses thermal yet they missed a 27km long dick in space.

I give up.

Until I can find a way to trap heat from shields, this game has a plot hole. Unless the LNoS didn't have shields. It's highly (and I mean highly)unlikely, but where does it say it does?
They CAN turn them off if they want.

Wait, forget what I said earlier. I found a way. What they can do is not have the shields on while using camo. That gets rid of the heat and camo doesn't need electricity to be on, so there would be no heat. That's how it got though.

It dropped out of slipspace beyond what the UNSC could detect. Then it used it's camo (without shields) ti sneak up on Reach. And the rest you know.

Everything generates heat you can not completely hide your heat signature unless you are dead or using technology the covenant do not have.

a 16 mile ship filled with redundant systems is going to shine like a full moon regardless of what you do.

I think Dot is assigned to specifically NOBLE, has internet connection and is physically just a server somewhere. And is a "dumb" AI

Like I said way earlier, trap the heat in cells. And camoflauge doesn't need to be electrical, unless you want it to be turned on and off. Wait...

God damn it, another plot hole!

Mass effect mechanics do not apply to the covenant nor is that something they would think of.

Covies just copy existing tech. The real question is, would forerunners think something like that?

I blame the Prophets for that,at least the Elites became space faring without the use of Forerunner relics as it was heresy in their eyes.
