Halo 2, For the long epic campaign, and VERY challanging multiplayer.

Halo 2 has the best combination of gameplay, maps, variety and online.

Halo: CE, best weapons, which mostly equates to best gameplay in this case. Not necessarily the coolest weapons, but the weapons in CE were more balanced, and didn't allow one or two (like the sniper or rocket launcher) to absolutely dominate and make the game unfun, and want to throw down your assault rifle for it, hell no, the assault rifle was a blast to use, so was the pistol, the shotgun kicked butt and functioned more like a real shotgun. Best story and campaign, best multiplayer maps imo, it just didn't have online gameplay.

Corporal Sultan - Squad Assistant of 2nd Squad [A122] - Spartan Corps

The memories I've had with Halo 3 are unforgettable.
Therefor, I am in favor for Halo 3 without a doubt!!

We Are The Meta.

Halo CE
Halo Reach
Halo 3 ODST
Halo 3
Halo 2
Halo Wars

Halo 2, 3 & ODST are actually at the same rank but between each one is my choice above.

I love all the Halo games, CE is the classic thus definitive version.

Reach put you into the story more and that ultimately your character was the one who saved the universe throughout the Halo games cos they saved the Pillar of Autumn.

ODST is third because it finally brought in all the other aspects of the Halo universe that never got a look at in the main trilogy. It also changed the gameplay that I think makes the game more of a challenge and unique ways to have fun.

Halo 3 and 2 were brilliant yet the levels were shorter and it felt that levels/pieces of the story were cut when there should have been more.

Halo Wars was the least because of the multiplayer and adding the flood. Some of the flood levels where just annoying to play and the fact that it hasn't been explained about Spirit of Fire's fate. Legendary cut-scence states they find something, the ship is found and the Spartans return to Reach to die there but ultimately it hasn't been explained.

I enjoyed all of them equally.

@Grunty: Halo does not need Bungie, just because they made it does not mean they must be the only ones who make it. Wars was a good game, it was a rare example of a decent RTS for the 360 and was made by a good team. 343i has made great stuff as well. Evolutions springs to mind.

dont forget halo waypoint
