Subject: *MY* idea for Halo 4's story *LONG READ!*

*Disclaimer*: I have absolutely NOT stolen this from anyone else. This is just my idea for the story of Halo 4. I also know that Bungie isnt making the game. this is simply for feedback. I put alot of thought into this after the end of halo 3, and even wrote it down. Also if you arent going to read past this point, dont even bother posting below. i also know that this will not, and cant be the story of Halo 4. i just felt like sharing :) please tell me what you think, and please no flamers/trolls

One year before the events of Halo Combat Evolved: A covenant corvette seeking out new forerunner worlds strikes out into deep space. As they get farther out into space, a few of the crew plan to overthrow the shipmaster, in the hopes that if they do discover some amazingly powerful forerunner tech, they coulod use it to control the very covenant itself.

By the time the crew discovers such a world, half the crew is on board. Not suprisngly the group was comprised of mainly Brutes and smaller troops afraid of the threats from said Brutes. Upon arrival, a small group is sent to the planet's surface to check it out. Among the group is the mastermind of the conspiracy to overthrow the Covenant leadership.

On the planet's surface, the Brute rebel breaks away from the group and accesses a computer terminal. Using the terminal, the Brute plans to use the planet's gravitational pull to bring the ship down to the surface, while others in his group search out powerful forerunner tech. The grav pull manages to bring the ship down, but it comes in too fast and breaks a few buildings upon impact. One of the buildings contain the lock on a giant flood storage tank. With the lock shot, the flood eventually overpower the doors of the tank and escape. the covenant are overrun.

During the fight between the Convenant and the flood, the monitor of the forerunner world intervenes with several thousand sentinel units. Only a couple of troops survive, including the shipmaster's right hand man, and the mastermind of the overthrow attempt gone wrong.

Fast forward to the end of Halo 3....

Master Chief awakens when the power of the shuttle's wrecked back half shuts down. He is released automatically to prevent death in the cryotube. As he awakens, he notices Cortana is no longer with him. He fears the worst. Upon entering the gravitational pull of the forerunner world, his ship crashes just as the covenant cruiser crashed before him. As he exits the ship he is greeted by a large force of sentinels, and the main AI overseer of the planet.

The overseer prevents the sentinels from attacking Chief. The overseer then goes on to tell the him that thier is an almost uncontrollable flood outbreak on the planets underside. The topside is the last safe remaining place, and the AI construct requests his help to stop the flood, claiming that he is the last part of a team he had already assembled. The chief ponders this wondering if he truly isnt the last spartan in the universe...

But as it would turn out, that seems it isnt the case. the chief is introduced to small group of surviving covenant. it is comprised of 4 grunts, 3 jackals, a brute, and an elite. Almost as soon as he is spotted, he is charged by the Elite and the Brute. He eventually subdues the two with the help of the AI. Afterwards Master Chief explains that the war is truly over and that the covenant is no more. The elite takes to the news well, explaining he had recieved fuzzy transmissions that helped validate the Chief's story over the past year. The Brute doesnt buy into it, though he realizes his survival hinges on this new alliance.

The group begins traveling across the planet wiping out flood outbreaks as they go. Along the way the AI explains how he managed to keep the convenant survivors alive and uninfected. The primary goal of the planet was to research a working vaccine of sorts that kept the flood from taking over a host. When he saved the group of survivors he explained to them that their survival hinged on whether the vaccine worked or not, becuase in their infection forms they are little to no threat to them and thier plasma weapons. He then goes on to explin they are traveling to a chamber where the vaccine can be synthesized for the chief as well. The vaccine was complete, but there was no way to spread it across the universe.

While traveling to the chamber, the overseer says he detects an AI of unknown origin who has managed to hack into the planets systems. The AI begins to speak out in a familiar voice: Cortana's. She had not died a smart AIs normal death, but instead went severally rampant. She then releases a large Sentinel unit to attack the survivors. During the commotion, the Brute snuck away, in search of a weapons room that the overseer mentioned to them upon recieving the vaccine, but said it was too dangerous to go to due to the flood outbreak.

The AI then accesses the chiefs suit, locates a weapons schematic for a spartan laser and informs the chief that he can recreate this weapon with the synthesizer, if they can hold off the sentinel. Upon the laser's completion the Chief destroys it. Cortana leaves the area in a rage.

As they are about to make another batch of the vaccine the overseer discovers that the machine was damaged after the spartan laser was fired during the fight with the uber sentinel. they then begin a trek to the next nearest synth chamber.

Once again, upon arrival at the chamber, they run into Cortana. this time she releases a large number of flood, including new twisted variant dues to the lack of host creatures. The group defeats the incoming flood and the overseer manages to purge cortana from the system. cortana is on the brink of death. Chief asks the overseer if there is anyway to save Cortana. the answer is yes, but at the cost of a new batch of the vaccine. As Chief ponders this thought, he agrees to it, to save Cortana. A new AI structure is combined with hers, but seeing as it was a blank slate, she has control, and maintains all memories. also her lifespan is expanded almost infinately aslong as the AI who watch over the Halos.

All the data for the vaccine is uploaded into Cortana, in hopes it could be used later to stop the flood for good. Cortana remembers a Forerunner shulttle bay near their position and they head for that location. They assume the Brute to be dead, seeing as he hasnt resurfaced. As they make it to the shuttle bay, the overseer attempts to undo the gravitiational changes so the survivors may excape the planet.

While prepping the shuttle, the group is attacked by the Brute, who is now sporting an advanced forerunner exo-suit, heavily modified to fit him. Thus a battle breaks out. the elite is knocked out, and the chief is forced to fight alone, as he orders the smaller covenant on to the ship for safety.

After several attempts to damage the suit fail, he thinks to himself its over. their battle eventually takes them to the crashed crusier. cortana then comes up with a plan. onboard the ship is a damaged scarab, but upon futher analysis the firing mechanism is still working. cortana enters into the scarabs computer systems, and waits for the chief to get the brute into position, and fires. the blast severely damages the suit, allowing the chief to finish him off. the overseer said as soon as the survivors beat the brute he would begin a detonation timer for the planet, in hopes it would kill the local flood infestation. the chief believes he is too far away to make it to the shuttle in time and orders cortana to upload herself into the shuttle via a nearby terminal. she attempts to do so reluctantly, but she cant as the shuttle has already taken off. she rejoins the chief for their last moments together.

Suddenly the shuttle appears, with the Elite piloting it. the group escapes just in the nick of time. they use the onboard computer to find the nearest Forerunner installation.... and it just so happens to be Halo 005. Cortana theorizes if they rework the firing mechanisms of the remaining halos and synthesize the vaccine in appropriate amounts, they could spread it across the galaxy quickly, altering all living things to be gentically incompatible with the flood. and thus they set out to achieve this one final goal.

right... so the covenant hasnt been searching out forerunner worlds? and their is no possibility of tension between the covenant leadership and its lackies that cause such an uprising? space is vast, and this is more possible than anything that 343 might come up with. i will love to hear how they do the story. probably nowhere near as good as this

They have been searching for halo anything after that was secondary.

No tension whatsoever unless this is near halo 3 time

And that is you issue right there, you think that your plot is amazing when really it is just an amateur one and most people write of that caliber (if they are serious) early high-school middle school.

your concept would not be awe inspiring to the lore and my cousion could do better than this let alone bungie.

They pitch far better concepts like this and they aren't cocky thinking they came up with the best plot ever.

somebody that has been playing halo for 10 years now and understand the general direction it will go lore wise

please explain what about this doesnt go along with the lore. im dying to hear what you think. and another its not cockyness, its confidence. if you want to get anywhere in this world you have to have it. also i have been playing since halo one, and have read most of the books.

confidence is " i think i can, i know i can" when you outright say you are better than something that is being cocky.

covenant uprising doesn't fit with lore, nor does the Idea of covenant randomly finding a forerunner planet as such and not reporting it not to mention it doesn't add up with the terminals

a) those terminals in halo 3 have information from over thousands of years ago.

b) i have read the books, and palyed the games. there have been uprisings and rebellions. one such was mentioned when the arbiter first donned the uniform while talking to the prophets. then there was the time in between halo 2 and 3 where the brutes and elites began to fight. prove me wrong on this. then ther was the heretics in halo 2. remember? is it so hard to believe that a character couldnt want power or control for themselves?

c) the covenant have been searching for forerunner planets, cause they believe all the forerunner stuff to be of religious value, and if you would have read: they were out in deep space... unknown territory. they couldve been well outside communication range. and the ship was pulled to the surface.

How can you report something if you have no ship to report to....gavi pull means boom boom ship XD and Elites would do as such remember Chief and Arby teamed up after meeting the grav-mind

Dude....epic sounds just like a Halo story except the Halo 4 trailer ruined it XD cause it kept popping up that Cortana was still with Chief others wise....your a writer !

thanks :D and it sort of sucks that the halo 4 trailer went in a very weird direction lol

More of a fan fic than an actual plausible storyline[/quote]

another thing: what do u think story arcs begin as? the writers themselves have to end up pitching the stories like this. and who are you to say whats plausible?

The last terminal is current and i suggest you read it.

If you read them properly you would notice they were to get more respect in the covenant or to get out of the covenant. Never were their elites rebellions.

The covenant have extremely good Comms, even in space if they were able to jump to the location they could commune.

IT's just an amateur plot.

the point is that rebellions arent as unlikely as you would like to believe. cause there has been atleast one clear case pointed out in halo 2. and how do you know the brutes in my little "amatuer" story didnt mess with the comms? or that the comms were recieving interference from the forerunner world? and as far as amatuer plots go: you would know wouldnt you ;)

your plot is based around elites doing an uprising to take over the covenant. The covenant was based off the idea of prophets controlling the tech and politics while elites fight, that is it. So your idea of happenings is wrong.

Again you are cocky and this is amateur regardless of what you think. If you want to be serious try taking a class because you have much to improve on not to mention you should know the lore you are writing about.

another thing: all the terminals are messages from two FORERUNNER AI's, mendicant bias and offensive bias. i went and found them, reread them. where are the covenant mentioned?
