Why not just put the user on the ignore list? You can find the button for it when reading a message from the person.

Not to mention you can still PM people when you have been blacklisted.

Just use the 'block user' button.

The mods won't get involved in member vs. member battles unless it starts making trouble in the forums. All you can do is block the user. Now if this member started following you on the forums and flaming you, then you can report the trouble-maker to a mod.

The mods can't really do anything about PM harassment, as they can't see your PMs. That's why you have an ignore list - you don't need a moderator for that.

There Im going to have to prove your wrong. Correct you cannot send direct links to your mail box. But if it really get's out of hand, try this:
-Go to the message that has the spam or flame in it.
-Hit the "print screen" button. It is usually to the upper right of your key board.
-Go to microsoft paint, and paste that page.
-Use a hosting program, and get us a link to it.
-Paste the link, then if we click on it, we'll see the message.

Don't bother with that process unless it is getting out of controll. Like others said, go with the "block user" choice.

--Edit--
Use the process if a spammer encorages his friends to do so, and if it keeps on for more than three days.

It would be very easy to forge messages that way if you were halfway adept at even paint, awful as it is. Moreso if you are good with the more advanced programs of that type.

O_O you looked at your friends balls when "he" sat on your head O_o

Block him, but i do think teh mods should at least warn the guy who is pm spamming him, maybe the guy who is being harassed should pass some quotes on to the mods to tell them really whats happening

The difficulty in even "warning" someone is that when it comes to PM's it that they are a matter of "he said, she said".

Imagine if you were to get a PM from me, stating that another member had told me that you were harrassing them via PM and I was asking you politely to cease and desist.

Could I prove that you were doing what that other member said that you were doing? No.

Would you feel as if I were harassing you for something that you didn't do? Possibly.

Do the moderators really want to get involved in such a thing when they cannot be certain of any allegations? Absolutely not.

You could always get the victim to tell you their email and password, then you could go in and see what the PM said. Just a thought.

But the fact remains that we can't stop PM harrasment.

Sure, we COULD blacklist the user involved, but then he'd still be able to PM you.

Isn't that what the block user button is for?
