Just decided to get into Halo Custom Edition about a year ago. I downloaded it, put in my product key, installed, and it's been running great. Love all the custom maps...

...but I hadn't touched it for a few months and now when I try to load it back up again the main menu is just black and white, no textures, no words, but I still here the music and that sound when I scroll over the menu. I managed to click on something to start a game up and it does the same thing in-game. No textures, just solid black and white colors for everything.

I looked up CE troubleshooting on hce.halomaps.org and it says something about anti-aliasing, but don't know anything about it.

Can I get a walkthrough or does anyone have any thoughts of what else it could be?

I'm not an expert at this because I have not bought the game myself yet but I would suggest re-installing the game since that fixes most problems with the computer games I play.

If you've tried forcing Anti Aliasing in the GPU control panel, then Halo may not start up correctly. I believe this is the same for if you try start the game with a resolution it does not support. Someone will correct me if im wrong however.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

It's kinda what Willis said. Somewhere between the last time the game ran correctly and now, you must have installed new video card drivers. Those settings must have been changed during the install to force AA.

If you have an ATi card, open Catalyst Control Center, go into the 3D options, click the AA tab, and check the "Use application settings" checkbox.

If you have an nVidia card, there should be a similar section with a similar option.

For Nvidia, select "Manage 3D settings" hit "global settings" and set to "application controlled"

If you have an Intel card, then your lucky it runs :P

No, it should be running in your system tray at the bottom-right of your desktop.

No, that's it. Apparently Catalyst Control Center isn't running if it's not showing up on your system tray. Honestly, I'm not sure if there's a way to fix that problem short of completely uninstalling and reinstalling CCC and your card's drivers.
