Subject: You shouldn't be able to quote the OP

i c u thar c' ing my signiture

Yours in _Kai_

I just see it as a force of habit, I don't really see it being detrimental or anything,or making it harder to read because it is in the quote box. If you're tired to scroll down then that just seems like laziness (no offense).

Anyone else see those threads with really lengthy OPs, and then the first poster quotes the entirety of it? Is this really necessary?

What of OP's with a lot of links, or one that needs to be updated frequently? Not only does it look tacky to see the old version of the OP posted, but it also makes it difficult to keep up with updated information, especially if you jump into the thread late and read a quote of an older OP.

My solution is in the title. The OP of the thread shouldn't have a quote button. The only way you will be able to quote any part of it is to manually highlight it and then type out the formatting yourself.

...

Or there can be a second box prompting you to confirm whether you want to quote the OP in its entirety before submitting. That way people wont do it accidentally or out of reflex.

Please discuss and thank you.

naw, i think its fine.

Oh hey there

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

I completely disagree. For example, in the Universe Forum when someone has a lengthy theory and you want to break it down and respond to the individual points they make I don't want to have to retype the entire OP in order to reply to his points in an easily understandable way.

Why can't we put Bungie Cards here?

This idea is a little silly IMO. How would you distinguish between people directly responding to the OP and people who are generally discussing the topic?

Yeah, people who do that get on my nerves.

Another pet peeves thread, eh? Interesting.

It's not a big deal, plain and simple. Stop complaining just for something to do.

Or people just need to think about what they're doing, rather than going ahead and quoting it just to flesh out a relatively short and pointless post.
Personally, I don't think it's out of order for anyone to drop a subtle PM, just telling them to edit it out - or even a Ninja to do it if it's a real eyesore.
