Subject: [Machinima] We Always Won On The Ground

Hey guys,

I recently watched the anime "Elfen Lied" and after listening to the main theme "Liium" I was immediately inspired to make a Reach machinima. The vocals fit with the Halo universe perfectly, and so I went about forming a simple story that I could tell using still images and slow-mo.

Some of the slow-mo didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped but I couldn't really do much about it. This is primarily an experimental piece, but I think it turned out quite well.

Hope you enjoy it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YDo7X2GqXw

Are these manditory?

I don't really get the story.
I mean, I get it, but it seems more like a montage than a video.

I like the shots you've got. Try experimenting with forge filters to change the mood in certain parts.

Well, yeah. I used montage to tell the story. It's basically just a simplified version of that quote (paraphrasing here; can't remember the exact quote): The Spartans always won on the ground, but the covenant would simply retreat back to their ships and glass them from orbit.

Oh, uh, I did do that except with post-production colour correction. I altered it so that when the ODST's were being beaten, there was a darker filter with more deep contrast. When compared to when the spartans arrive, I went for a slightly brighter filter.

I don't really bother with the ones in forge because I have so much more freedom in post-production.

Thanks for the feedback.

Let's be honest, it could be a lot worse.

You need to be hired as a guy who makes trailers to video games.
