Yes, does anybody have a link to that, I'd very much like to know the context of that line.
There's no link. It was said during the live broadcast on Spike TV (so best bet is youtube for evidence). In any case the full context that people seem to be leaving out was that they were referring to how the trailer lacks purple. Not the game as a whole.
I'll try to find it then when I have the time...I'm sure the people using it to back up their claims of "no Covies" in the new trilogy are probably misinterpreting the line and taking it out of context >_>
To not include the various species of the Covenant would be a rather stupid move if you ask me, especially excluding the Elites, there are many fans who don't read the books, and wondering what the state of things are amongst the Elites and what sort of state their relationship with Humanity is in. I know many people have been wondering this, and as I said not all read the books yet still ask these questions, to leave such matters solely up to the books would be a grave mistake.
And regardless of Halo 4 starting a new trilogy, the affects the Covenant and their genocidal war with Humanity has had have left a deep impact on the present timeline of Halo. They're still key players in the sense that their deeds live on and the consequences of the war would have had some sort of impact on the new trilogy.
BE MY BEST FRIEND.
Haha XD
I think I saw you arguing with Grey (Deva Path over on Waypoint) about this over on the Waypoint forums, you have a very similar user name to the one over there at least. But yeah, I really don't think that they're going to exclude the Covenant species, I don't know whether or not they'd play a part in Halo 4 or not or how large a part it would be if they did show up, but I really don't think that 343i is going to completely exclude them from the new trilogy.
