You're here because I have intellectually owned you in The Flood forum, now that you've been owned please kill yourself.

I enjoyed High Charity.

My two favorites are definitely Regret and Gravemind, however, all of Halo 2's levels share a special "Halo 2 flare" which I have yet to see in another title other than Combat Evolved. (Halo 2's was deeper, by the way.)

Well, nobody's mentioning Uprising. It was short but there was an easy way to drive a Spectre all over the map and on Uprising I pulled off the best single player swordfly (for me personally) and it was a doozy.

It's a tut so hang in there for the final flight, I complete what magicians call 'The Prestige'.

Outskirts is the best in terms of pure Haloing. Have logged an embarrassing amount of time on that one.

Yep, that's no joke. There's so many overlapping maps it's amazing to actually look around, set a vehicle on a rooftop, then go back around to see it floating....cool stuff. At the Scarab spawn out in the water map, there are three converging maps and they were all scaled slightly different and the floor of each map is at a different angle. I almost flipped out trying for the gun inside the tunnel because each time I moved, say, a pelican slightly, when I went to the other map it had moved a great deal. That setup was extremely difficult.

Dude, Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone are beautiful looking missions. Uprising and The Great Journey also look visually stunning. Even Gravemind and High Charity with it's dark purple and creepy flood infestation, it's one of the most gorgeous environments with the overlook of the city center. Every missions at the end of the campaign had this magnificent divine feeling that you never really felt in any of the other campaigns. And the music too! Oh my god, Halo 2 and ODST definetly the best soundtracks in the franchise. Heavy Price Paid, damn Marty, that sound moves my soul, even if that sounds really nerdy and weird.

I loved Uprising.

agree.
impend, mombasa suite, peril and the last spartan are good tracks as well IMO. back in the days me and my friends would play outskirts everyday to listen to mombasa suite (when you fight hunters for the first time in halo 2)

peril was good to listen to in the level gravemind while witnessing the brutes fight the elite, grunts and jackals - enjoyed how the game goes deeper into the covenant story, culture and politics instead of the usual kill anything thats not a human like in reach

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

Cairo Station was my all-time favorite. I loved both side of the campaign, and it only got better when the two sides intersected.

On a side note, Halo 2 is the one cliffhanger that I will always have burned in my skull.

Sir, finishing this fight held me on edge for years. Screw you Bungie! (Kidding of course, it just made Halo 3 that much better)

Same same, I will not forget that quote. I was trying to remember quotes at the ending of other older games and I couldn't remember any.

i never understood how people hated halo 2's cliffhanger ending, it was good. i mean it guaranteed everyone what they wanted: a sequel to one of the greatest game of its time. too bad halo 3's campaign turned out to be a dissapointment.

That's only when you play it like you're supposed to (kill every enemy you encounter).

It's more fun if you deviate from the objective.

Sierra 117's -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REDACTED

Crow's Nest's Brute Chieftain can be brought to the end of the level. The War Chieftain can be brought to the Drones ambush place and blocked with a deployable cover. You can also have three Johnsons.

Tsavo Highway has vehicular battles in surplus but you can also do it on foot.

The Storm has Scarab boarding or level overloading via Wraith (the screenshot created 7.09.2010 in my screenshot gallery depicts a failed attempt but with a humorous result), infinite marines vs. warehouse Brutes and Hunters, and a huge gathering of Covies. You can save the missile pod turret operator and the missile pod turret.

Floodgate has speedrun potential, you can have 4 Spec Ops Elites armed with swords, and you can use the hammer on small crates to send yourself flying (works better with Cowbell on).

The Ark has sniping mission start, undead Scarab glitch, and a boss esque fight at the end (could have been more epic though). If started at Rally Point Bravo, you can retain Arbiter and he'll kill most of the enemies near the pelican evac site. Very effective on Legendary.

Should I continue?

on topic: I'm sure everyone's going to know what I'm going to nominate for best Halo 2 campaign missions:

Cairo Station
Metropolis

I'm still working on SL14SO Outskirts. Hotel gives me hell, but the Elite outside of the hotel next to the Grunt gunner can be assassinated, if you cloak before he sees you. For the next part, get in the water to avoid Phantom and then park the Ghost at a certain location, plasma grenade behind it, get in, you have a good vantage point. Kill the Grunt gunner and Jackal sniper with the Ghost bolts, preferably headshots.

Wow, I couldn't even get to HZ unless I ran away from the fighting and that doesn't seem right. I've beaten OS SLASO but not by fighting, I was just running so for me it doesn't count. Actually, I didn't fight anyone.

Got film on sniper alley?

Well actually, I also skipped it by going on the roof.

But I'm willing to attempt sniper alley with all skulls on. ;) But I don't want to do the waves and the Hunters. It's too long!!

So can I, uh, skip those fights and go straight to the snipers?

Btw, how did you get past the Grunt gunner and Jackal sniper? Distant ghost bolts? Sniping? I found that I had to launch myself and a Ghost to a higher vantage point to be able to get past that part.

Lol, brother, you can skip anything you want, the only reason I asked about film is because I like watching you battle. However, don't film just for me, I know how good you are.

For the turret Grunt and Elite, heh, I just stayed on the roof and got the sword and from there I circled over the roof toward where the beach is. So I came to the HZ building and stood by the sign (avoiding being shot). There's a hole in the roof (rectangle) so I just cloaked, jumped down and ran through the HZ passage (cloaking again so I could run out and get the Ghost). It was just a lot of Ghost driving after that.

I forgot to say I did have to shoot the Marines that comes out of HZ. I did that because of Assassins so the Elite and Grunt would focus on them

Thanks for the compliment! :)

Jackal snipers will be taken out right after I finish some little things I'm preparing for Halo 3.

Excalibur? Hole in the roof?! :o Yeah, that's how I got past the passage as well. But how did you deal with the Jackal snipers? They always snipe me when I'm boosting. It's abominable.

Shooting them stopped them from coming out or just alerted the Covies to their direction?

[Edited on 07.06.2011 2:11 PM PDT]

If I shoot the Marines it directs the attention more their way, rather than the enemy obeying the Armory skull and staring in your direction. The Marines can't see the enemy so they just stand there, but if I hurt them they will move and all fire from the enemy will be directed at them for the 2 1/2 seconds Envy works. It doesn't always work but sometimes I can slide through unscathed.

My memory is coming back, it's been three years since I played SLASO. When standing/hiding by the HZ sign the Elite is out of your vision so he won't kill you as you toss a sticky onto the turret Grunt. Then it's much easier to get by that Mythical Elite.
