Building off the oldest 100 list by Thanatos, I'm going to be going through to at least uid 10000 and posting an archive of how many members are still around from essentially pre-2004.

My ultimate aim, I suppose, is to have compiled a list of all active members up to my MemberID (173816) to see just how many active members are older than I am.

So far I'm up to MemberID 3000, and this is the list so far:

My future is certain, I will one day fly away. All because I am saved from the penalty of sin. I know he lives.

I bet if you ask Achronos really nicely, he could take care of the hard work for you. But bravo on the hard work (time killing).

What was the purpose for this?

Nice! Although you probably should put a few reserved posts, if it takes more pages...

Thats really interesting that only 90 of the first 1000 people are still here..

I'm sure he could, but I don't think he would.

As for the purpose of this, I've been curious for a few years (I asked runningturtle once) what the level of attrition for Bungie.net users is. At the moment, it averages out at about 1 in 15 users from pre-2004 are still active. If you ignore the first 1000, it's closer to 1 in 20.

So, idle curiosity and time killing, mostly. Not sure what the point of reserving more posts is, frankly, as I have another 7k characters and I can always provide links to individual posts in the thread. Won't look as tidy, but hey.

attrition= word of the day.
(I had to look that one up)

But a pretty good list none the less. And y ou are absoluetly right about time killing. But if you got the time, use it how ever.

This doesn't mean that much coming from me, but if I had a medal, I would give it to you for most creative post this year.

Of course you would also recieve one for most time killed this decade. But Bungie would be in there for a close second for their creation of ODST. (IMO)

Hm, that made me wonder what my UID was.

I'm 1,188,050. A bit late to the party I think :P Nice work though, good to see some oldies still around.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I wonder were silentstalker101 ranks...

Unless someone writes a bit of code to do this for me, even getting to the day after the release of Halo 2 in the US (day before release in the UK) would take a gargantuan effort. :P 10k is early '04, with Anelf3 (MemberID=9993) being mid-January '04. That's a realistic goal for the moment.

Attrition goes from 89% for the first 1k, to near as 95% for the second 1k, to 96% for the 3rd 1k. Average attrition over the lot is around 94%.

I'll do some more on this in the morning, but it's looking like the attrition rate is going to go progressively higher. At this rate, Anelf3 will probably be in the oldest 500.
