-Hell lot of Campaign glitches (Halo 1 had a good deal of them, Halo 2 had a hell lot of them, Halo 3 also had a lot of them)
-Easter eggs like Halo: Reach's, but more better in quality (i.e. instead of no armaments when operating a Pelican, give it missiles)
-Encouragement of challenges (i.e. LASO, but also speedrun, pacifist, zero shot, etc.) in the achievements like they've done with Halo: Reach's Challenges
-adjustable cutscenes in like in Halo 1 and the Flood arrival on the Ark cutscene. So in other words, enemies and allies shouldn't be deleted before cutscenes take place, unless they are in mass numbers far away from the cutscene area
-Zealots (but they have to be gold, wield the sword like in Halo 1 or wield it like a gun, and be able to leap (that was in Halo 3, as well as Halo 3: ODST (look up Brute Pimp)) as well as climb surfaces (ala Halo 2))
Edit:
-add preconfigured difficulties (i.e. Heroic with Thunderstorm, Tough Luck, Famine, and Iron). These of course should be separate from the classic 4 in another menu (or switchable via x button or something)
-add Mythic difficulty
-if Hunters appear,
make them vulnerable to laser. It would be inconsistent for Hunters to be vulnerable to it in Halo 3 but be resistant in the sequel(s).
give them switchable firing modes (i.e. fuel rod, fuel rod beam, fuel rod spam (only seen when using bump possess in Halo PC or when modding in Halo PC/Xbox. They could fire their fuel rod super fast if you held the shoot down and clicked on the right mouse button)).
make them able to leap. It's funny when you're taunting a Hunter in a modded Halo 1 map and they suddenly jump to your position.
-forerunner vehicles should be on a stellar level. Time manipulating crystals, artificial supernovas, massive Sentinels. We're talking very powerful. Of course, they should have a weakness (maybe they're defunct or badly damaged).
-Scorpion should be like a Halo 1, 2, 3 hybrid: able to headshot driver out of seat (multiplayer), controllable machine gun + turret seat (campaign only), able to reach splatter speed, slow turning speed, cannon slightly inaccurate, but very powerful, no vehicle health.
-more encounters in which melee is called upon (i.e. like on PoA on easy, you have to melee a busted door to continue the level)
-if Flood appear,
then they should be more subtle. I'm talking half Flood, as well as random transformations of marines (on Floodgate, the marine next to the glass window sometimes exhibits infection before the Flood drop down), if they appear.
They should be able to swing the energy sword, gravity hammer, melee weapons
There should be heavy combat form variants that are armed with heavy weapons and take a lot of melees like Halo 1 Flood
Infection Forms should be easy to melee again
More Pure Forms if Gravemind makes a return
-------
More will be added shortly.
P.s. Subtly shaping Halo 4 into my Halo in my imagination. It must become reality!

Variations to the weapons:
SMG: Silenced, regular
Pistol: CE, ODST, H3
Needler: Regular Blamite, Super needler (Blue needles that are stronger)
Spiker: Regular, Spike Rifle
Ect
But MOST OF ALL I want... Hunters... In multiplayer
Being able to change your prefered species for certain playlists. Also the ability to USE the special abilitys of each species. Like the hunters would be slow, take a -blam!- load of damage, 1 hit area effect melee, and the cannon. Elites would be like they are in reach, Brutes would be slightly slower, do 1.75 more melee damage, and take 1.75 more damage before dieing.
Stuff like that.Blue needles as in Halo 1 needler? Then YES! That was actually fun to use, since you didn't have to have your crosshair on enemies to track them.
Multiplayer Hunters would only be possible if they were like Halo 1 Hunters: armor takes damage, spikes take damage
Of course, they would have to be adjusted:
-back area has armor like front area. Or Hunter skin is the same as Hunter armor; instead of having multiple collisions, they should only have basic ones: head, body, feet
-can be assassinated
-to get headshots on a Hunter but have fair gameplay, their helmet must be removable to expose that unseen sweet soft "head" and shots to their neck should be counted as body shots
-movement has to be easier (I believe campaign hunters are somewhat difficult to maneuver. I'll be getting Playing as a Hunter on The Ark to see if this is true) and they should be slightly more faster
-melee should use Halo 3's Normal or Heroic damage
