Sometimes, Halo will freeze up when switching maps online. Ctrl Alt Delete only works about 25% of the time, the rest of the time I have to shut down my computer and restart it again. My computer has a failsafe that prevents you from turning it off while a program is running, so I used to have to crawl under the table, unplug the computer from the surge protector, and plug it back in whenever Halo crashed. Later on, I discovered that I didn't have to unplug the computer, and that I could shut it down by pushing the on/off button, and then pressing enter on the keyboard. Halo would close, and then windows would shut down. The biggest problem about Halo crashing is that getting back on the internet is a real pain in the ass. I have a 56k modem, and sometimes I have to connect and hang up several times before I can get a decent connection speed and clarity. About a month ago, I started getting this error message whenever I shut down my computer. It would say "Explorer is not responding. Please wait for it to shut down to prevent data loss.", or something like that, and I'd have to wait about 15 seconds for this blue bar to load before I could shut down. I found this to be annoying at first, but it later turned out to be a godsend when I was playing Halo online. When I crashed, I could hit the on/off button, and press enter, and instead of closing Halo and going directly to the shutdown process, it closed Halo took me to the error message. I could then hit cancel to abort the process of shutting down, and when I got back to Windows, I was still connected to the internet (Yay!). However, about 2 weeks later, this error message stopped showing up, and I went back to pounding my head on the table and cursing. Is there something I can download or some setting I can change in Windows to make it ask you whether you really want to shut down after pressing the on/off button? Or, better yet, is there a way to close Halo when it freezes without resorting to pushing the button? Ctrl alt del works sometimes, is there a way to make it work all of the time? Even better yet, is there a way to prevent the crashing?

You can always just push ctrl alt delete then choose to log out then just log back in when it crashes. It's faster than rebooting anyways. I do this all the time and it always works :)

But ctrl alt delete usually doesn't work. About one fourth of the time when Halo crashes, I press ctrl alt delete, the task manager comes up, and I am able to exit Halo. The rest of the time, nothing happens at all.
