CGC FTW

In the legendary walkthrough video that comes with the legendary edition bungie says reach fits in perfectly with the current canon. Are they stupid or high? Because it doesnt fit well at all.

The Forerunner, the Great Journey, and Heaven Theory

[Announcement Trailer] Halo: Forerunner

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Are the two mutually exclusive?

Since practically every thread in the forum is some variation of your topic, you might as well just pick one at random and jump right in. The vitriol and ignorance usually simmer to a niiiiice boiling point just about this time of day.

I DO have time to bleed...i just dont want to.

game cannon beats book cannon as the game was made first

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Wow, they actually say that?

*facepalm*

Actually on that note, Halo: Fall of Reach came out before Halo: CE.

So by your logic....

The two are not mutually exclusive. Many of the fans on here have proposed theories and ideas that link TFoR and Reach almost perfectly, so the two can fit. Sure you'll find some things that can't be completely explained yet, but everything should be repaired with time. And really there's no reason to not trust the developers of something when they say it fits, especially if they have a master document like the Halo Story Bible. Unless you've seen that, then I really don't think you can claim that the book and the game don't fit with any real degree of certainty.

No, ExcessiveFaun6 is not my real gamertag.

Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

Canon
a : an accepted principle or rule
b : a criterion or standard of judgment
c : a body of principles, rules, standards, or norms
Source: Merriam-Webster

The game play may be different, and there may not be a Master Chief, but Reach follows the same rules and standards that its predecessors did. It has story, developed characters, and polish. It even has a controversial multiplayer (like every Halo game before it)

I thought Halo was Bungie's baby, doesn't that mean that Bungie get to decide what the -blam!- happens? Not some author, machinima, fanfic, short film, snippet, article or synopsis. If Bungie create it, it's canon, if anything or even everything else contradicts this; it is not.

Well it's true...whatever the developer/current holder of the IP says is law for that particular universe. Now 343i is well within their rights to change whatever Bungie has stated in the past, I do not think it very likely though.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Just stick with the Old Republic and post-prequels and it's all good.
