Since the weekly update revealed Bungie.net is going to be getting something of an upgrade sometime in the future, I thought I'd ask a question pertinent to themes since... well, they're all I'm good at. ;)

Is the site's upgrade going to be graphical as well as technical, and will our current themes be forward compatible?

That should happen invisibly to you, but it will mean fewer weird bugs in forums and searches and so on.

I think it won't really change much. Although, OMG SEARCHES.

Tom G (Achronos) says we're upgrading the site to the new version of .Net, and that means rebuilding it. That should happen invisibly to you
That leads me to believe that we won't see any visible changes, but...

Since we're working on a new game, we're also going to have to make significant changes to the site to add both the new game and some info about the Windows Vista version of Halo 2.
This leads me to believe that there will be visual changes, if not just additions to the "Games" page.

This also leads me to believe that they will release news of thier new project very soon.

I doubt it will be something major like new themes. Maybe a search feature, but other than that I think it will be invisible.

True... but then there was also this:

"If we announce our new game, we'll add a section for it, but we're already looking at a more major redesign to take all these things into account, and support say, new types of stats and content. That stuff is a way off, but an interim step involves making it easier for us to change the content on the site and add to it, so some of the dustier sections will be upgraded and we'll have lots more content. Especially if our plan to add a new writer comes to fruition. So at some point, you're going to see a mini-relaunch."

EDITED TO ADD: Quote-Owned! Sorry, I've been spending a lot of time finding new 'owned' variants. Right now I'm loving "K-Owned" for fighting games and "SnOwned" for Amped. Try it yourself, fun for the family!

So it's New Hawtness V1.5. From what i gather with the .Net upgrade, it'll be easier, faster and better to interface with other .Net things, like the 360, so i'd expect more website-game interaction, beyond that of seeing "bungie.net" behind your gamertag in halo 2. I think this upgrade is just a backend and possibly administrator tool update to make it oh so much easier to add news and content and is certainly linked with frankie's talk of new video and audio content.

First off: make sure you have the newest version.

Second: Tools -> options -> advanced then uncheck smooth scrolling and check autoscrolling. that should fix it.

A whole new redesign? What like a new colour or something?

Blue is my favourite....don't change that at least.

Didn't you hear? Blue is pink.

Of course the same person who told me that also said that war is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, Oceania is at war with Eurasia and Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.

I hope theyt don't screw it up, and I hope we don't get a new group of new guys when they announce the new project. Sadly, we all now that both will happen

I personaly don't like the colors on this site, They're just too.. Dark and boring. It would be cool with lighter colors.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Hopefully you're right, Fragula. Although Frankie may not have mentioned this directly or even possibly in-directly, if they can do it, it would only makse sense to introduce some new ones in at the same time.

Or perhaps there will be two up-grades. One to the main sections of the site (first), then to the 7th Column. But who knows? I doubt anyone knows how the teams' minds work..possibly not even they know...

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

It is my jist that I think it would most logical to do graphical touch ups and the such mentioned by Sir Fragula when the "next project" is released and impacts the forums and when/if we get a new one. Just would make sense to me...
