Today sucked, for a Bungie Day (that is). Hell, even last year we got something better (i.e. flames for a day). But hey, I'm not going to be that one internet -blam!- that doesn't provide valid reasoning as to why it sucked, for I will list reasons right:

- Fail Bags (Swag Bags)
- Aerospace (which was stupid for those who don't make mobile games)
- 50,000 on BvW Playlist
- Steaks as the "prize"
- No update
- Nothing on the next IP
- Nothing new on the BvW Playlist
- Nothing celebratory

Anybody care to continue?

This is a pretty great Bungie day. This is a lot more than they've ever done.

Battlefield 3 MASTER RACE
Mass Effect 3 MASTER RACE
Skyrim MASTER RACE
Coup MASTER RACE
Chrome MASTER RACE
I program games, that's all you need to know.

It's not the Bungie Day I would have hoped for, but It was pretty damn fine.

I liked Aerospace, even though I'm not a mobile developer it's a great idea.

I know, right? Giving steaks away for free in the name of fun? Selling cool Bungie swag for charity (and the happiness of fans)? Delaying a 20-year-in-the-making ViDoc by THREE WEEKS? THIS IS DISGUSTING BUNGIE, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

there's too much or there's too little? what?

  • 07.07.2011 4:19 PM PDT

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

-Bags for $30 full of stuff that normally would cost at least $30 each
-Watch Bungie get their asses kicked by the Community
-Blue Flames forever
-Star nameplate forever
-Bungie nameplate forever
-Marathon, for free, along with the source code for Marathon: Infinity
-Celebrating 10 years of epicness, putting it to an end, and moving on to something potentially even better

Yeah man, it sure sucked.

I must say I was late to the Bungie Day party but I enjoyed last years much more...

this year it seems unless you have the luck of a god, or a good amount of money to spend, you missed out on most of the Bungie Day stuff. It's mostly just store stuff, which I am not against as it's ALL for charity, but cut us some slack. Give the rest of us something.

I know they've been more than generous, but after this, Bungie is gone until their next franchise, outside of Aerospace, which I won't care for as I'm not a mobile gamer. I just wish that it was more... I don't know how to phrase it but, availible to everyone. The true Bungie Day seems to be to the select group out of the near 100K+ players who were in Bungie Day playlist all day which just seems not right.

I'm completely satisfied with it, I truly am. I'm awaiting that ViDoc and know every second of the wait is worth it. But this Bungie Day just kind of fell flat for me.

I didn't think today was bad at all but there should of been more festivities however. It doesn't matter anyway, I'm still having fun.

Maybe they'll bring out a surprise sometime soon. ;)

How are steaks not good prizes? If you don't like steak your no man. And Aerospace was sweet to. I don't have a mobile device but imagine all those independent game companies out there Bungie is helping. Don't think of your self man.

The Blue flames seemed like less of a Bungie Day gift, but more of a going away, we'll see you in a long, long time(It's called ETERNAL for god's sake XD) rememberance gift.

I know it sounds REALLY selfish, and it is. But it just seems really kind of jank(for lack of a better term) that the best part of this Bungie Day will only be experienced by about 6 games an hourX24 hours= About 144 games, which means if there are NO repeated players, that only about 576 players will get to face Bungie, out of the 50K in the playlist at a time... And the 576 is ALL DAY total.

I know I sound like a horrible person, and I know I sound like a whiner, but it's just how I feel about this Bungie Day. Other than the flames(And whenever I've mentioned Flames, I mean the nameplates too), there isn't much that everyone can get this Bungie Day.

Not everyone has money to dish out into nice collectors memerobelia for Bungie Day. I didn't have the extra money for a Swag Bag, or a shirt even... Again, just my view. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, and I'm sure some feel completely opposite.

But in the end, I still love Bungie with all my gaming heart :)

Whoo.

Obviously, I mean it's not like we also got flames this year and it was for a longer time which ALONE would have been better than last year, but we also get physical steakes if we steak them?

We also get bags of swag?
Auctioning off original concept art for charity?
Indie Developers get the ability to have better exposure for their games?
They didn't give us things that they expressly said they wouldn't give us?

e.g. Info on their new IP.

Bungie, I am disappoint.

This is the best Bungie Day I've ever had. The past Bungie Days I didn't participate in anything because it didn't appeal to me. I'm glad I've been sticking around for this one, lots of great things happening. Just because you fail to recognize it doesn't mean it isn't great for the community.

OP is just mad they're holding onto their new IP for a while.

But the Swag Bags are great! Have you not seen what people are getting in them?

The anniversary stuff on the store is ace.

STEAK!

Free Blue flames and nameplates.

Aerospace sounds great. Like, really great. You just wait and see.

All in all I think it's been a great Bungie Day!

This faith is my state.....otherwise Babylon.

If I were to come up with an objection it would probably be that they started too soon and built up too many expectations. If they had saved everything (well maybe not the auctions) for today you would have refered to it as the best Bungie Day ever instead of just complaining.

This is a pretty great Bungie day. This is a lot more than they've ever done.
I busted my ass off playing the BvW the first time. Got squat even though i got 49xp (7x7=49).
I busted my ass off trying to get the star nameplate and having far better screenshots then 70% of what was even seen.
I busted my ass off this time trying to match up with bungie only to get a half lagged games and one bastard (inheritor) who had to cheat their way into a win by lag switching.

I agree with the OP. Today is crap.

They've reminded us many times through the past couple weeks to not expect anything huge for Bungie Day. I'm glad the festivities have lasted for a couple weeks rather than everything happening on one day. There would be too many things going on at once, I think Bungie would explode.
