I agree to an extent. I wasn't really planning on playing the BvW thing because I can just buy my own steak instead of waiting for something that probably won't happen (Getting a match with Bungie, let alone getting the Steaktacular). I just got back from football and my friend wants to play, so I may humor him for a few games. Nothing new though. I never really participated in Bungie Day online fiascoes and what not, so oh well.

Aerospace is meh. It doesn't concern me so I don't care.

Flames are cool. I don't play Reach often or use them, but they are cool.

Swag Bags, well, I didn't make an effort to get one. It made this forum dumb though, so da' eff, Swag Bags?

etc.

Overall, I don't care.

Yeah. During August '07 - Sepetember '08, I was absent, so I missed Cold Storage the first day, but that seems like it would be the coolest. Well, that and the first BvW thing in 2009.

I disagree with OP, today is AWESOME! I got to create an account that matches my gamer tag. I had this user name back in 2006, but had issues linking it to my gamer tag. Now that my old account was deleted, I could create a new account and link it with my gamer tag. Good bye Frag Ingot Hello Malfar!!!!!

I just wanted to thank those at bungie whom over the years have continued to hold the highest standards for their game development process. (Myth II trashing volumes issue excluded) I can can't tell how disappointed I have been resently with the quality of games that have been released. Most game companies (Bethsa soft...) release game based soley on profit alone. For example I purchased two copies of Startrek: Legacy. You may ask yourself why I would purchase two copies? Well I love multi-player action, and on the back of the box it states player 2, and on the MS web site it states players 1-4. To make a painful story short, Bethsa released the game over the holidays before it was ready, just to turn over a buck.

To me it seems that development companies are biting off more than they can chew.

I don't see this patten with Bungie. It seem to me that Bumgie is like a top notch world class chef, they won't server you a 10 cent burger for a dollar, but instead sell you a six dollar burger for a dollar.

I will always hold Bungie products with the highest of expectations, and so far they have exceed all expectations. But then I guess Microsoft know a good thing when it sees one.

I would just like to see bungie go back to their roots, and co-develope games for the two major PC platforms.

Although consoles are the way of the future...the way of the future....the way of the future... way of the future..the way of the future.

Thanks again Bungie,

- Brian (Malfar)

Goat was famous. Irie was infamous. Gh0st was FaMaS.

The BvW playlist sucks, and that's all I really cared about. I liked loling at Bungie being terrible at their game though.

Truth is a matter of perception.

Something better last year my ass. Bungie gave us flames for a day. Yes, it was insanely fun but they're giving you flames forever instead of one day.

Swag Bags- $30, everything that you get in one is worth a lot more than that.

Aerospace- You don't have to be a Mobile Game Developer to enjoy it.

Steaks- You get the best steaks you can buy for PLAYING A VIDEO GAME. I would classify that as a prize.

IP- They'll let us know when they're ready.

Celebration- Are you -blam!- kidding me?! They've been a company for 20 years. I think we can all celebrate with that.

Yep, you're right. Nothing to celebrate now.

If EVERYONE who played Bungie got a steaktacular, only about 576 players would get their steaks.

... That's not a very big benefit considering they're already halfway through the day.

I'm just saying these guys are making a HUGE deal out of they're offering steaks for steaktaculars when so few will play them, nonetheless steak them.

My comment was aimed towards OP.

Just because Bungie "haven't done much" today, are you forgetting about the last 20 years? Or maybe the last 10 when Halo was introduced to us?

This is a pretty great Bungie day. This is a lot more than they've ever done.

I'm sorry that you set your expectations astronomically high.

I'm quite content with everything they've given us, as is the majority of the community.

Today sucked, for a Bungie Day (that is). Hell, even last year we got something better (i.e. flames for a day). But hey, I'm not going to be that one internet -blam!- that doesn't provide valid reasoning as to why it sucked, for I will list reasons right:

- Fail Bags (Swag Bags)
- Aerospace (which was stupid for those who don't make mobile games)
- 50,000 on BvW Playlist
- Steaks as the "prize"
- No update
- Nothing on the next IP
- Nothing new on the BvW Playlist
- Nothing celebratory

Anybody care to continue?

- Goes towards charity.
- Developers have to start somewhere, who knows maybe one of these small developers will become the next Bungie.
- All the people have just as much right to play as you, if not more now.
- Beggars can't be choosers.
- Why, were you expecting one?
- They have stated that there will be no news on their next IP.
- What are they going to do that is new?
- These past few weeks have not been celebratory enough for you?

Maybe the problem is that you're just an ungrateful spoiled person. It is Bungie's birthday not yours, we should be giving back to them for all the great things they have done for us and others.

I actually agree, this bungie days been pretty lame. The only thing they're doing for it is the playlist and an extremely rare chance at getting a steak. I hope there's some kind of surprise later tonight :/

I don't know about you guys, but I had a hell of a day. I got to spend some great gaming with my friends, met some new people, won some awesome games, and over all just had a good time.

That's good enough for me.

Seems a classic case of "I expected more, so it sucked".

-TGP-

I had that in mind. I was absolutely expecting something more, but over the year's I've trained myself to ween myself off of expecting more than Bungie normally gives.

Not going to make a thread about how uneventful this Bungie day has been though. Just slap a check mark on the less awesome side of my mental 50/50 pie graph prediction of how today would go.

This is an awesome bungie day. Why? I didn't expect Bungie to do everything for me.

I bought my own food and drink. I played [am still playing, actually] halo. I'm having a great time. dunno about you

...Hell, even last year we got something better (i.e. flames for a day)......

Um, well we have flames forever now......I'm not seeing where you're going with this.

Also, if memory serves people got Recon for beating Bungie in past years. Now you get steak. Expensive tasty meat > virtual helmet imo

I understand if people are upset about not getting bags or posters because they sold out almost instantly. But its LIMITED for a reason. You can't always get what you want.

Be grateful we got anything to begin with. Bungie could have said, "Hey guys Happy Bungie Day" and left it at that. But they didn't.

They didn't even say that!

If you don't want to/can't buy anything or don't own/like Halo Reach then there is absolutely nothing in it for you.

This Bungie day feels like the message is that you have to pay to be a fan.

Disappointed because Bungie day used to be cool for everyone, whether you were a Bungie fan or a Halo fan.
