Subject: Well, nice work Bungie.

Just grab a Burn Bright Burn Blue shirt and call it good. The Swag Bags were overrated. Some had juicy stuff in them, but more than likely, you'd get a bag with a wrong size shirt and a bunch of random nick nacks.

I somewhat agree that this year's Bungie Day has been fairly meh. The last three years it has been more exciting in my opinion. My first Bungie Day was Cold Storage, then Road to Recon the year after and then last year I had a blast playing with the flaming helmet for a few games, then going into theater to capture some screenshots. This year, the two weeks have been interesting, but they day itself was fairly uneventful. Massive 50k jackpots people could win more than once with increased frequency would be something people would look back on and say "remember 2011 when I earned 400k cR in a single day!"

Seems a classic case of "I expected more, so it sucked".

I think had some "I didn't get what I wanted" too.

-Marathon, for free, along with the source code for Marathon: Infinity

WAIT. marathon for free? where?

  • 07.07.2011 7:35 PM PDT

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

Well Marathon was always "free" but now Bungie released it for the iPad. Also the Marathon: Infinity Source code will allow for lots and lots of added fun to the game.

This is a pretty great Bungie day. This is a lot more than they've ever done.

Yea no kidding. I enjoyed playing all of the Halo I did today, celebrating 10 great years of gaming. Bungie gave me a fantastic childhood and I cannot thank them enough for that. Today was awesome and for all the whiners your just ungrateful -blam!-s who can burn in hell for all I care. The fact that you are all so greedy is sick. I love the blue flames and the chance I had at winning a steak! My hidden TruSkill is to high to play with the Bungie members but I still had fun meeting 5 new friends today.

Fantastic Bungie day!

I salute you Bungie on your 20th anniversary and for your epic 10 years of great Halo!

Christ, what a whiner. Feel lucky that you even got to celebrate, some of us had to work all day.

I don't know. I slightly agree and yet I don't. They really set it up to be a great Bungie Day and they delivered in someways, but didn't in others. They delivered on nearly every promise except the ViDoc and had a huge mix up with the Swag Bags. Overall, it was a successful Bungie Day, but it could have been better. Their intentions were in the right places, but it didn't work out as planned which is disappointing and hopefully isn't a sign of things to come in the future. Today was supposed to be awesome, but I'm hearing a lot of rage and disappointment (some of which is not justified).

However, I can barely talk about my expectations because while I was very excited for Bungie Day, I still consider myself a new fan compared to a lot of people.

Congrats, Bungie! I'll still care about you and I hope you top this year in 2012!

I disagree.
They're selling artworks, film props and swag bags and giving all that money to charity.
They're going to release a vidoc celebrating 20 years.
They're giving the community a chance to compete with them and literally earn a steak.
They're giving out blue flames (forever) and nameplates.
They recently revealed Aerospace.

Now, lets see what you've done: Be ungrateful and whine.

Canada isn't that important that it needs two of the same threads on page one.

I actually just thought of this. This Bungie Day really is the best Bungie Day ever. I think what makes people, like myself, think at first that it sucks is, "I didn't get to play them and this is the last time I can ever play them" mentality.

-blam!- you Bungie for not matching up against me, but thanks for a great Bungie Day, you bastards. Alas, my dream of kicking their ass will never come true. There is still time, but after playing for 16-17 hours, you lose faith.

Indeed. I haven't had XBL for a long time, but I still come on her everyday.

I think most of you are just afraid to voice your true opinions.

While Bungie day itself hasn't been all too special, I think the weeks leading up to it have been fun. I bought a Swag Bag, an On The Edge poster and a Master Chief concept art poster (the $100 one not the $6000 auction).

The number of people playing the BvW playlist was disappointing, but whatever. I'll enjoy my stuff anyways.

I worked 14 hours, came home, watched a show on Netflix, and almost went to sleep before I remembered what day it was. Played 4 games, thankfully with some really, really old friends. That pretty much sums it up. If I could barely remember what day it was, not much was going on. Call it a wrap.
