what did you think of it? , from friends i got a bunch of mixed responses. I liked the ending and it was meant to add a cliffhanger for halo 3 and made the halo 3 catch phrase "Finish the Fight"

i loved the ending! still one of the best endings i've seen in a game. the music used was good as well. back in 2005 during HALO 2's glory days me and my friends would finish the last level almost every day just to watch that scene. "you mind telling me what you're doing on board a forerunner ship?", "sir, finishing this fight" what a phrase to end a spectacular game.

some people hated it, dont object to whoever does since we're all entitled to our own opinions but what they dont realise is it guaranteed them all what they wanted: a sequel to the greatest game of its time. too bad halo 3's campaign turned out to be a disapointmnet when compared to how good C.E's campaign and 2's campaign was back in their prime.

long live HALO 2.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

When I first saw it, I was like wtf it can't end there. The game really got going with the final few missions, I really thought it was gonna be a suicide mission with the chief blowing himself up with the ship. Perfect cliffhanger for a game, but Halo 3's campaign really ruined it for me. Too short, legendary was a joke, Arbiter got the side kick role, etc.

Actually, I find that I'm more invincible without pants, which is why I am not wearing any at the moment.

I loved the ending the first time, but thats mainly because I had Halo 3 waiting in its unopened box right next to me.

At first:

Threw controller at television...

Later:

Realized that it is an awesome lead out as well as a lead in, and it was a perfect way to end a title for a time pressed company.

Fada beo Halo 2!

it's the kind of ending people like to hate. (not me i liked it ok)

If you couldn't get a legit 50 in H3 then you suck so bad You're opinion is null to me.

If you think my Reach K/D is bad, it's because I play the one playlist that requires 2 hands to win in.

If you think you're better than me, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 me. And we'll see what happens ;).

but this is all you need to know about me

It was an awesome ending because it made the player feel disappointed and angry because he couldn't finish the fight. That's what all games and movies etc should shoot for, and ending similar to that. Halo three's campaign was retarded though and felt as if it was put together by four year olds. Halo CE and Halo 2 have the best campaign's by far! Halo 3 and Reach were a joke of a campaign.

dissapointed? angry? not at all, wouldnt the point be to keep the story unfinished to make way for a sequel.

I rember i hated the Halo 2 ending for a few reasons. I saved up a few dollars and finally got it thinking it would take me as long as Halo 1. Then the ending comes up and i was about ready to throw the controller in fury for it ending so soon.

I knew back then, well here comes Halo 3.

Anyway, the ending is a nice one but for me at the time it was just a slap in the face.

>>ALERT<<

Class 1337 "noob sauce" inbound; Troll units cleared to engage.

The first time I finished Halo 2 was around 2005 or 2006; as such, when I got to the ending I was like: "Aww, what?! Now I gotta wait who knows how many years for Halo 3?!"

And of course, I shed tears of joy when I saw the very first trailer to Halo 3 - and was subsequently disappointed by the Campaign upon playing it. I mean, seriously... was it at all necessary to kill off Johnson and Miranda, and trap John in half a damn ship? Still... I like Halo 3's campaign a lot better than I liked Reach's campaign...

... 'kay, I'm gonna stop there before I go off into a rant. Point is, I was so enraptured in Halo 2's campaign that my initial reaction was outrage - which only proves just how well-made the game was.

I write poetry, I write short-stories, I listen to hip-hop (80s&90s), Reggae, Classic Rock n Roll, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Blues, and the 60s, 70s.

I was pissed when I found out that was the ending. Years later the ending felt right, only because Halo: Uprising (That's the comic's name right?) and because Halo 3 were released.

you people, seriously... the ending even had good music! the last Spartan which also made it more entertaining then the rest of the halo endings for that matter. johnson, miranda, arby and 2401 pendant tangents conversation was so exciting, it left you in suspense feeling curious: 'where would someone go to activate the other halos' 'the ark ofcourse' 'and where oracle, is that...'. the scene in space where the humans battle the covy ships, chief manages to contact lord hood in the damaged Cairo station 'you mind telling me what you're doing onboard a forerunner ship' 'sir, finishing this fight' what an epic way to end the game. couldnt care less about 3 or reach's ending

RIP Halo 2

I liked it. And that ending was always great to see after going through the hardest campaign on legendary.

Too much of a clifhanger, i expected 1 level more.
It ended too much of a sudden, but the ending itself was ok.

Mention of the Ark made me excited. I would have been more excited if I had played Halo 2 before Halo 3.

I loved it, but Halo 3 didn't live up to what Halo 2's ending promised.

Halo 3's campaign felt too much like CE...unfortunately, i had a feeling of "i've done this before" because of it. Example, Silent Cartographer and The Covenant beginnings. The Maw and Halo's warthog run's (still fun though). The Ark felt similar to AOTCR...you get the picture. Halo 2 was just epic and unfortunately Halo 3 lost a bit of that and i wasn't entirely impressed.

In 2001, gaming changed forever. The time of Halo.

Halo 3, you finished the fight.... Halfway.

Troll? What makes you think that? 0_o'

I thought that mission was epic; I was disappointed that it didn't make it the final game.
