Subject: A personal Thank You to Bungie

// Chapter
// My PC

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

I love Bungie. The first game I owned was CE, and ever since I have been hooked, not only to Bungie, but all their games and all of their awesomeness.I'm sad to see them leave Halo, but also excited (for their new IP) because I know for a fact that M$ was holding them back.

I don't know how I will endure this long period of darkness that we will be in without any updates, but then again this is my internet "home", so I guess I'll just speculate with you guys.

Wow. Ten years of Halo. Twenty years of Bungie.

I got involved with Halo late. Picked up Halo 3, an Xbox 360 and a 60 inch tv all on the same day and I can say with pretty high confidence that I've logged more time on that tv playing Halo (I ended up buying the entire series, of course) than just simply watching television. I've bought a few other games, tried them out and set them down, always going back to Halo in one form or another. Thanks, Bungie. It's all you.

Bungie's hard work, attention to detail and indisputable love for their fans have made online gaming a whole different world. When the first Halo came on the scene, it set the bar higher than ever before and the other game developers had to strive to reach that bar. We, the fans and gamers were the beneficiaries. Games stopped being lame (well, most of them, anyway).

So, thanks, Bungie. You done good. We're going to miss your involvement in Halo and personally, I really have no idea how anyone can hope to follow your lead here. Good luck on your new endeavor, whatever it is, and as you "Go Dark" on us, please keep in mind that we're out here, in that darkness, waiting for the sun to rise and bless the day with a new miracle so we can spend countless hours sitting in front of a screen, minds blown by the sheer fun of it all.

Hurry back. Please.

Very well said.
