I didn't turn on my xbox or try and order a swag bag.

I still enjoyed Bungie day. I was finger painting on the underside of my girlfriend's desk (not a euphemism) and you know what I drew? A -blam!- septagon.

It's about community pride, not interaction with Bungie.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

You Shall Not Pass!!!

You're forgetting the part where they had to do any of this stuff...Wait. They didn't have to. Bungie did a lot. Just because you didn't have fun, that doesn't mean they didn't do things right. They gave the community in-game content. No one gives a crap if you have flames or a name plate, use them if you like. If you don't want to use them because you don't feel like they're special, well that's your problem then, isn't it?

I chose not to use them, but that doesn't mean I don't think they're cool or that I don't think other people should use them. I just have no interest in them. If you only use in game content because it's rare, it's rather vain and foolish. No one cares. Thousands of other players were happy with the flames and name plates.

We all knew it was going to be a slim chance, but everyone had a chance to play Bungie. A good handful of players did, and I'm sure they felt it was worth it, even if they didn't steak em'.

Bungie Aerospace: Just because it doesn't directly effect me, that doesn't mean it's not something worth noting. Bungie unveiled a new project to help boost indie developers and their games. I'm sure the most die hard of fans are happy and are eager to see what's happening.

Bungie didn't have to do anything, and they weren't trying to cater to you. They were trying to celebrate with the community. With the amount of game time, the merchandise sold, and the reveal of their new project, I'd say it does just that.

That being said, I do agree with the Swag Bag issue. I work. I don't exactly have people at my beck and call to sit it on the computer and keep refreshing to buy a Swag Bag and I can't call out and do it. I never had much of a chance. By the time the second batch went up, I was an hour or two into my shift. The first was sold out before I even caught wind it was up and ready. I believe it was executed poorly and I think Bungie should have given more people more of a fair chance to grab one.

I got myself a nice shirt and cinch bag though.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

Largely agreed. However, I think Aerospace is a fantastic idea and can't wait to see it.

I was really looking forward to the ViDoc. I was half-expecting the new IP to be revealed, but I kinda guessed it wouldn't be.

Can some Ninja edit this guy's thread title so it has a "My" on the front of it? I'd really like that. Thanks.

Again, how is that for the fans?

This is suppose to be for the fans, who PAID for their games, and supported the company. NOT, a charity organization, unless we're talking about PR.

Just saying, it is what it is.

The fans get original artwork, pay for it as they will and then the profits go to charity.

I don't see the problem here, if dudes wanna buy something they can and it's not like Bungie is just selling us random crap to make more money, they're doing it for a cause.

I don't see why people look forward to the next one when they were disappointed by the previous. If it isn't going to get any better for you, make it what you want for yourself.

Again, NOT for the majority of the fans, and AGAIN, who give them the majority of their profits.

It is, what it is.

It is a fan buying a piece of artwork from a series they enjoy and the profits going to charity.

It seems like win-win.

And it's not like it's a unreasonable price either, all that jacking up to $2000, that is all the fans.

Fans being greedy and making ridiculous bids, how does this embetter the rest of us again?

*sigh* People nowadays, we get to mess around with our blue flames and nameplates and Bungie.net Mobile App and maybe play some games with some Bungie Employees and maybe win some steaks and maybe score some original artwork and get some sweet bags of random swag, indie developers get to show off their stuff and cancer patients get Ipads.

And yet, people still -blam!-.

Human nature to point out flaws, and complain.

Flaws in what?

The only problem I've seen in this whole Bungie day is that whole swag bag fiasco, which most probably only happened because people wouldn't stop F5ing, community's fault.

The rest of the stuff is just people mindlessly -blam!-ing without reason.

The MM system was designed to search for those closest to where you live, so naturally I would have the slightest of chances to pair up with them. It sucked, yeah, but at least I played a bunch of fun games with my friends.

PLEASE READ!

I have been seeing a lot of these threads, saying how "bland" Bungie day is, and how "little" Bungie gave. It actually makes me a little sick how ungrateful you supposed Halo fans are... we have been playing and enjoying Bungie games for up to 20 years, each one providing potential years of fun. Bungie has supported these games, listened to the community and enriched our lives, to an extent. And you, the receiver of all this, believes that YOU should be rewarded because Bungie is leaving? NO! It is Bungie day, and it is YOUR duty to thank Bungie, not moan about how sad your lives are. How selfish can you possibly be? We should be rewarding Bungie, not vice versa... get off your ungrateful butts and do something... make a cool forge map so show them, write a card, make a CONSTRUCTIVE thread. The world dosnt revolve around you, despite what most video gamers think. Let the Halo communtiy be the first to show that its a two way process, and smash aside a stereotype, and, most importantly, thank Bungie for everything!!!

Thnx for reading

Something very useful in Minecr-...
You know what? This isn't the time, nor place for off-topic discussion.

Someone from Bungie (Stosh?) said that you shouldn't keep your expectations too high. Maybe he was talking about the steaks or the day itself. However, Bungie did alot. Armour, steak, a free game, a free app, the announcement of Activision/Blizzard/(Bungie in small text because they publish mobile games), and stuff for charity. And Bags of Swag.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

The point of giving out the Blue flames and nameplates wasn't so that you could have something that would distinguish you from the rest of the players in Halo. The point of it was to symbolically give Halo to the fans. Bungie took what had been exclusive to them and gave it to everyone. Are you really surprised that huge numbers of people are using this shiny new toy? What's surprising is that you care. Why does it matter that everyone else has Blue flames? If you like them use them and if you don't then don't.

Giving everyone a chance to play with Bungie is a gift to the whole community. You get to play Halo, and as an added bonus you get a small chance to play with Bungie and maybe even win a steak. Play Halo and have fun, don't freak out over how small the chances of playing with Bungie are. Especially don't whine about it after not playing and say that it's because you are so good that you would never get matched up with them. Get over yourself.

If you don't like Aerospace then fine, but many people play mobile games and this is good for them. If you don't like mobile games then fine, Bungie will still make kick ass console games. Also, Aerospace isn't iOS only. The platform is chosen my the developer of the mobile game. Source

As for them selling stuff, they sold swag in every price range. While it would have been sweet to get a framed piece of original concept art, they were really expensive, swag bags were limited, but they sold plenty of other stuff that you had plenty of chance to get with a price tag of anywhere from $20 to $100. (Full disclosure: I was lucky enough to get a Swag Bag, so I may be biased on this one.)

As for your argument at Bungie days past, this year they didn't just give us tidbits of information about an upcoming project, they revealed one of them for us (if you don't like it that's another issue). You did get digital content, you just didn't like it.

Oh,Yeah. And how do you know what prizes you get?? Well, one thing right is,you can barely match up with a bungie member with haunted helmet,i think i did,but he didnt have haunted helmet,i fell asleep,so i think he reported me to bungie saying i was either "Boosting" or being "Idol". i just wish bungie could tell me how long this "Temp Bann from earning cr" is so i can get to a helm i want soooo badly..

Also, I don't see how anything here was rushed or disappointing. All your things listed in your OP are merely opinions that users clearly have a different stance on. A lot of people enjoyed that they had the chance to bid on an auction and I'm sure some people will be very happy when they won their items.

Everyone here should re-read this part. Especially the opinion part. Why is everyone being a douche to someone expressing their opinions on a public forum? You disagree with him? Excellent, let him know that you disagree. No need to be a dick about it.

OT: Yea I kind of agree. When I first started playing (9 am EST) I was having a lot of fun. Then around game 11 or so I started matching up against full teams that were MUCH better than I. I blamed TrueSkill for placing me a bit too high and that it would even out. As I'm sure you could have guessed it didn't. The 3.5 K/D I had throughout the first 10 games dropped down to 1.3. Then the problems that plague normal matchmaking started rearing their ugly heads as more and more people entered the playlist.

I eventually got fed up with the Bungie Day playlist (the only thing free Bungie offered on Bungie Day). Overall I'm slightly disappointed but not at Bungie. I'm disappointed by the playlist and crappy Reach matchmaking. All the swag offered to Bungie cost a lot of money, the auctions went into the thousands, and the swag bags were a limited run. None of this is Bungie's fault obviously. They are a business and it's the cost of business. However, that doesn't mean I cant be disappointed by it all.

Magic is magical, so are shoes... Along with plastic.
Don't forget to flush the toilet, because -blam!- stinks.

Bungie day was awesome!... I don't get why people complain about it, like they were expecting a massive explosion of pleasure, steak, swag bags and Halo all wrapped up in a couple hours of gaming...

Me, I'm incredibly grateful that they took time out of their schedule to celebrate their birthday with the people who support them through all their efforts (AND THEY GAVE FRIGGIN STEAK TO PEOPLE WHO BEAT THEM FOR FREE, COME ON!). Bungie gave us everything within their power in Reach, now they send off their Halo responsibility to 343i.
