Bungie day was great. It was a good playlist with a lot of cool people. The only thing that I would of liked Bungie to do differently was

1)Make it so there was a higher credit cap this day especially.
2)Have more teams playing at once. (I have a empty plate...)
3)What were those daily challenges about?!

Personally, I'm disappointed you guys blew up my estimates for how many steaks we'd have to pay out. They come out of Urk's wages, you know.

heh, that bad huh?

Shut up OP. No other developer even does, yeah this years was way below the bungie standard but it's better than nothing.

What was it, 09/10 they made you pay for your anniversary pet? LOL

Blizzard actually hit 20 years as well. What did we get? I think it was an ingame pet and a shiny commemorative webpage.

No, it was 9/9 that they gave EVERYONE at Blizzcon a $250 swag bag IN PERSON with the purchase of a $60 entry ticket.

Yep.
Looks pretty stupid considering how little the intrinsic value of it actually is.

Why is everyone complaining all we got last year was flames FOR A DAY and a trailer yet everyone was happy. Except for the occasional person complaing but thats normal

Hmm, well, call me a fanboy all you want [because I'd agree with you if you did :D ] but this display of unappreciative rubbish is really very disappointing.

-I didn't get a swag bag [or the opportunity to bid for one]

-I didn't get one of the E-bay items [or again, the chance to bid for them]

-I didn't get to show off my awesum skillz to the Bungie team in a 4v4 match-made-in-heaven comp.

So what? It's not like I'm the only person who missed out. That was half the fun of it anyway: We're supposed to be a super competitive community, aren't we? What happened to good sportsmanship?

If anything, I'm disappointed I didn't get to help out with the charity side of things [I'm fiscally limited at the moment]

For those who like to -blam!- and moan about things, all the time:

Grow some balls, harden up, and take it. [Sorry if that offends any of the female members of the community]

If you're un-happy with how things are done here, theres a red 'X' icon in the left-hand corner of the screen. Use it.

I'm off to sport my 'out-of-fashion' Blue Flames and Bungie nameplate in the Reach servers. I guess I'm a Bungie fan after all.

I thought that Bungie day was epic tbh, I couldn't wish for a better thing than to have a chance of playing my favourite devs at their own game (it didn't happen though, but it might have done if my mum didn't make me turn off the internet at 3:30 in the morning :P)

Well, at least it wasn't sold under a faulty Amazon account that indicted credit card fraud...

It's funny, because that wasn't Bungie's problem.

I expected better, RR.

I believe I am one of the few people here to agree with you. I recieved Halo: Combat Evolved when it first came out. A magnificent world filled with wonder, excitement and action. The main problem I have with Bungie day (if you don't mind me summing it up) is this. I understand that Bungie said they would slowly take Halo away from us, I get that because that's what they literally said in previous posts. My problem with the entire situation is not the fact of what happend, but how it happend. It seemed to me like Bungie kind of forgot about Halo and went straight to their next project like a spoiled child dropping his old toy for a new one. Not only did they have multiple problems with their celebration(swag bags, playlists, steaks, Vidoc)But they neglected to alert the community directly from their site. No they went to Twitter(probablly run by some random office worker)and posted their problems there. Not keeping the community up to date with the big news(Halo totally didn't get Bungie noticed as one of the best gaming franchises, it was probablly Gnop). Bungie dissapointed me...

Bungie Day is what you make it. You are the one who decides on what Bungie Day was like for you.

My god, you have no concept of economics and business ethics...

Who went through Amazon? Who hired that firm to ship their crap? Had to be Bungie, herpa derp.

Why couldn't they have did what Bioware and Visceral do? Have their products made by a reputable company, then ship them through THEIR OWN OUTLET. That way, you don't have to deal with large conglomerates like Amazon!

I expect this kind of reply, mind you. I'm a realist, not a dreamer.

How was Bungie to know Amazon was about to frogblasttheventcore?

You can buy steaks with Miller Lite?

I'll be on my own side.

I don't care about not getting into a game in the playlist, nor do I care about the lack of announcements regarding their new game, nor do I care for another steak. I've had too much in the past few days as it is.

What did it for me was a superlative filled article from Urk, just like the ones we used to get in between Halo 1 and 2. The ones that Frankie would write to drive us into a rabid fanboyish tizzy.

I've found myself less active around here, and not as excited as I used to be, since there's nothing really new coming for a while, and especially considering Aerospace wasn't what I expected (couldn't give less of a -blam!- about mobile games, personally). But that last paragraph reminded me of those days when we were anxiously waiting for the next tidbit of info regarding H2, and we'd devour them as they came, analyzing them far too closely, looking for anything new so we could rush and make a poorly written thread about it before anyone else did.

We knew nothing at all about what was coming. All we knew was Installation 04. How could they possibly be improving our baby, Halo? New vehicles? New weapons? Earth! What's that weapon that Jackal is holding? It's a new weapon! No it's a Needler you stupid -blam!-! No you're -blam!- stupid! Will they bring back the pistol? lol ur a ghey pistol whore!

We didn't have the same kind of excitement for Halo 3 or Reach. We had already experienced the excitement of that first sequel, the game that started this silly midnight game launch trend. We won't have it for Halo 4 or anything Halo after it, doubly so for me, considering that I don't trust anyone but Bungie with Halo.

So we find ourselves in the dark once again. There are no screenshots to over-analyze, no hints from Frankie or Urk, no cakes full of pies, no ninjas on fire going 150 mph through a hospital zone, no Mister Chief at the end of the weekly updates that actually had info to share. Yet. Hopefully it'll be soon.

I can't wait to go through that amazing and horrible experience again.

I got 30,000 Cr. That's better than I hoped for. People expect Bungie to deliver the steaks in person probably. Even if they did, someone would complain that the delivery person wasn't the employee that they wanted.

Though the front page article did give me hope.

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Ok think about it. Last year most people didn't get ANYTHING.
This year people got:
Blue Flame
Bungie Nameplate
All-Star Nameplate
Reveal on Aerospace
Vidoc (delayed, blame Stosh's retarded cat.)
Steaks (for those who won them)

I really like Nedus' post. I don't even have Reach, and 7/7 I went to the movies and had a lot of fun with a girl friend of mine.

In the back of my head though... All I could think about was that it was Bungie day. I love you Bungie. Forever part of the community. <3

That doesn't prove anything. Bungie had an open Beta, and if you can reach Bungie, they might throw something you're way too. I know of a couple of people who randomly went to Bungie's studio and got stopped by Jerome, they explained that they were fans, and then they got a studio tour with some gift bags.

Bungie is the only studio that does something special for all the fans. This year has been the best bungie day yet. If you think about the previous bungie days, this one definitely takes the cake with everything they've been doing.

Bungie name plate
All star name plate
Bungie Mobile
Marathon for iPad
Aerospace
Blue Flames
Avatar
Helping charity
Numerous items in the store
Selling swag bags worth more than the asking price
Making a special playlist in Reach
Playing with the community
giving the people who Steaked bungie 2 Steaks
Revamped homepage
And the ViDoc (Still counts because it was intended for today, just things happened and it had to get pushed back)

Games at cheap ass prices
Free stuff if you ask right
TF2 for free
All the "Meet the ..." vids
217 updates on a game from 2007 that consists of maps, weapons and...hats
Free tours of the studio if you are nice. "People got to see part of "Meet the Medic" while it was still in production
Gabe helping students with marketing class
If you are going to use Blue flames as a reason, then every single TF2 hat ever made
Allowing community made maps get implemented into the game, and not just little "place some blocks here" maps
Valve Store
Also revamped their home page with the last update.

Just a few things. Don't let your extreme fanboyism get to you, Valve has been faithful to it's community for years, and much better than Bungie. Oh, and where is this proof of people getting free stuff from Bungie? Unless you have proof, you are just making stories up. Until Bungie steps up their game, they will always be #2, which is awesome. #2 out of all the gaming companies is a hard task to accomplish.
