What are we supposed to be discussing here?
"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."
Interview brought to you by Rokit.
---------------
Q: Hey Drummer, for those that don't know you, who are you, and what do you do for a living? Are you currently attending school?
A: Hey Rokit, thanks for interviewing me. (Only took us around a month to figure the times out!) Anyway, I'm a 21 year old that lives in New Jersey. I'm going to be a Senior at University of Connecticut next semester and I'm studying Mechanical Engineering. So, as you could probably guess, I don't really do anything else for a living other than being a student. However, I do have an internship this summer.
Q: That sounds pretty exciting, and rather gruelling; I have a few friends that are in that field and it's definitely an experience. Where do you hope the field takes you? What's your "life long goal"? Congrats on the internship by the way.
A: Well, I've had two internships so far and they have both put me in the manufacturing and packaging side of the career...I'll be honest, I don't really see myself staying there for the rest of my career. My first internship dealt with a company that created machines that package your everyday food or products (One example being Jack Links Beef Jerky) and this summer I'm working for a company that does protective packaging (these guys are the inventors of Bubble Wrap). These are definitely good things to put on my résumé, but I hope I can branch out to another field once I start my career. However, I don't know what branch I would actually want to go into yet. (Not much time left to decide!) I'd say that my life long goal would to go somewhere in the engineering field and become a manager of an engineering team.
Q: That's awesome! So, let's escape reality for a bit and talk about the multiverse. What got you into Bungie? Better yet, what keeps you coming back for more?
A: Alright, this tale starts way back on December 25th, 2001. I was one of the many kids to receive Halo CE and an Xbox that Christmas. Even though I wasn't a huge console gamer back then, I still found time every Friday to play Halo 1 with friends. The things we did ranged from Co-op to Team Slayer to getting out of maps for fun. My interested dwindled until... I played Halo 2 in French at my friends house (if you catch my drift). That sleep over really made me regain interest in the series and playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live is what put the final nail in my social life's coffin. I literally played that game every free moment I had and I have some of my fondest video game moments to show for it.
It was around the time of Halo 2 that I made an account here, however, I was never very active at the beginning. Honestly, I couldn't even tell you what my first post or thread was here. (I'm sure it is written quite terribly and in AIM talk) I posted on and off until sophomore year of college. It was then that I became really active in the community.
I'd say the things that have kept my interest all this time would be the private groups I'm apart of and the Flood. I won't lie, I do often go into the Community section to see threads like, "MODS ARE BULLIES! WE NEED MOAR!!!" and "Here is the the solution to every 'issue' the community has!" to get a good laugh every so often.
Q: Sounds like our stories are very similar. So what other types of games do you play? What are your favorites? Favorite games?
A: Honestly, I'm a fan of many different genres. Shooters, RPGs, racing games, and sports games are all examples of things that I play. However, Dance Central is my all time favorite game...nah, not really.
Hmm, my favorite games? Well, single player is a big deal for me and I'd say that my favorite game has a very strong single player experience. So, the winner is going to be Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 1. However, I like games like Gears of War, Team Fortress 2, and Halo too. None of these games are the game that I put the most time into, though. The game that holds that award would be World of Warcraft (unfortunately).
Q: WoW kills man, but it's k. I still love you. So, do you visit any of those other online communities?
A: I visit the WoW and MMO Champion forums to see the latest theory crafting on my class and what not. However, I rarely post in those forums; just a lurker. For some reason I've just called this place my "Internet Home."
Q: Well, that makes two of us. So, back over to the real world, and delving into a more personal look at drummer0702. What kind of movies do you enjoy? Seen any good ones lately? All time Faves?
A: I like all different kinds of movies. Comedies, Action Movies, Sci-Fi, Drama, etc. I've actually been sitting here for a few minutes trying to figure out the most recent movie I've seen, though. I honestly can't remember the last movie I saw in theaters.......Ya, I give up.
Well, my favorite movie of all time is probably Life is Beautiful or its original name La vita è bella for you film buffs. It's an Italian film that mostly takes place during the Holocaust and it is a film I would suggest that everyone watch.
Q: I'll have to check that one out. How about music?
A: Honestly, I like a little bit of everything. Even though I dislike Country music, I'm sure there is a song out there that I would enjoy. But, my favorite artists would probably be (in no specific order) Four Year Strong, Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, Less than Jake, Rise Against, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Q: I like your taste. Well drummer, that's all I have for you, it's been a great pleasure. Is there any shout outs you'd like to give?
A: Well, thanks for taking the time to interview me. Er, shout outs..... hmm....
Well, I mine as well say the groups I'm in, right? That's what people usually do... So, I guess Sapphire and The Enlightened Ones are good ones to name.
