I would like to start this off by congratulating anyone who won steak, I did not read all of the information on all of Bungie's games so I don not know how many of you there are. Either way, you make us proud. Now, for the main reason I wrote this. I have to admit, I was somewhat disappointed for a few reasons with Bungie Day. Now before you get the wrong idea; I love Bungie, Halo, and the 30 000 credit bonus that came with the Bungie Day playlist. However, I was disappointed for a few SMALL reasons.
First up: very limited maps and game variants within the Bungie Day playlist. I can understand the 'Slayer only' game set up as it was necessary for the steaktacular event. The limited maps, however, was not entirely necessary. I spent a large amount of the 24 hour period in the playlist and, by the end, I was voting for the lesser of what seemed to all be repetitive decisions. I suppose that is my own fault for playing as many rounds as I did but I badly wanted to compete against some of the Bungie staff.
This brings me to my second point and that is the very limited number of Bungie teams involved. I was hoping for two to four Bungie teams playing at any given time but with only one, many die-hard fanatics never even got a glimpse of a bungie employee, myself unfortunately being one of those people. This is not my reason for writing this, I just felt that feedback might be helpful to those interested.
I was also somewhat disappointed with the number of people posing as members of the Bungie teams by mimicking the armor and emblem of the Bungie teams (I know it wasn't hard but still). It was quite obvious that they were fakes when their names did not mention some type of beef. Which, on it's own, was a very interesting way for Bungie to separate themselves from the heard so to speak. I was also somewhat disappointed with the apparent skill level of the Bungie teams (no offence, you would still probably beat me :P). I assumed that the win/loss ratio would be much closer.
These few things aside, I enjoyed my first Bungie day quite a bit. I did not encounter anyone online who was rude or too obnoxious and there was minimal T-bagging to mention. It was as Bungie had likely hoped it would be; A friendly, fun, and competitive community day with great results and greater participants. Thank you bungie for hosting this and best of luck with your future endeavors and thank you to the community for a great 24 hours of competitive, entertaining gaming.
I still wouldn't mind playing a few matches with Bungie employees (or community members if you would like) so if anyone would like to play a few rounds with or against me shoot Knight Lucky a message, don't be shy ;) As for the rest of you, I'll see you on the battle field.
Sincerely, Knight Lucky
