This isn't a thread to say i'm disappointed with what i got in my bag, because i haven't got one and it isn't one to rag on how i didn't manage to get one, like many others, sort of.

Its a thread to say that i was disappointed with how this whole thing was handled.

Primarily, i'll say i am fully behind the charity of the swag bag along with all of the other charity auctions and products bungie have sold and will continue to sell in the future. So please don't take this as an attack on their good charity.

I will say though, that what is arguably the biggest and best haul of Bungie memorabilia was limited to a number less than 1000 (ish)? I find this unacceptable. One might argue that you can grab you're fair share of stuff from the bungie store anyway but the swag bag was much more, you had the opportunity go get something you didn't expect, a big surprise, that feeling would have been worth much more than simply buying individual items yourself.

I would like to strongly urge Bungie to continue the Swag Bag, even if they don't contain rare limited edition things just a collection of things from the store, equal in value or more to the price tag. I think they would be the most popular thing in the store for Bungie fans everywhere and would show how much bungie cares for their fans.

What do you think?

There isn't an unlimited number of 'biggest' and 'best' stuff. Urk said they were even getting Employees to give away their own personal items at the end to make more- to give away as much as they possibly could. They're tapped out mate.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

They had to ask for personal items because they over ordered them.

If there were more they wouldn't be as good or as valuable.

If you read on, I went on to say they should do bags which contain "standard" goodies, stuff that you can buy individually, such as books, action figures and other items just presented in the form of a swag bag so theirs an aura of mystery and surprise about what you might have been given. I appreciated that after this limited batch it would be impossible to provide such a large quantity of limited edition stuff (otherwise it would no longer be limited!!) but i'm sure a lot of people were just after that as opposed to the incredibly rare items, i know i was.

Heck, even autographing said goods would go a long way for the fans but i appreciate such an idea is impractical and near impossible to achieve on the distribution scale i've suggested these swag bags be brought to.

Using the term Unacceptable in this context is a bit over the top. However I agree that random bags would be an awesome way to sell more items with interesting results, hell I am a sucker for Woot Bag-o-Craps.

i admit it is a strong word for the discussion but its just to drive a point home. Its to mirror the disappointment many fans now have at the news that they won't be able to get a swag bag.

As i said, i applaud Bungie for its charitable works and this was a great addition to its previous endeavours, all i'm saying is now that the "big" bags have shipped (ones containing the limited edition special stuff) is it not possible to start an every day, run of the mill bag for the general public, for its fans and those who missed out?

Like I said: They had to ask for personal items so they could get as many bags as possible.

Posted by: Ruley117But there's really no point then. You might as well just buy the regular items themselves rather than buy a bag with the slim hope you might have something special in it. As for things like autographed stuff? You might as well ask why they don't keep the store stocked constantly with signed items rather than why they don't put them in bags that are otherwise standard, no?

i'm not ignoring what you said about personal items, have you failed to notice my comment about how i accept that no more truly limited items can be distributed?

Furthermore, i can make the deduction that this product would not appeal to you - a random collection of bungie memorabilia from the store. i accept that yes you can buy the items individually from the store or elsewhere, what you are paying for is those items but the suspense and surprise of not knowing what you'll get - like what the swag bags provided but without the rare items.

Also, i accepted that signed items was out of the question, it was a mere suggestion in the hopes others would suggest more ideas, not do what you appear to be doing, attempt to drag down an idea that has the desires of the community at heart.

No, I have read it. After reading it, I have commented that without the addition of truly limited content, having more bags is pointless. Why? Because you an just buy whatever else is in there. There aren't that many standard items to give. And if someone is buying a bag, chances are not that slim that they already have Halo/ Bungie items, thus making it even less worth it to put a limited number of common items in a ''random'' bag. Really, it's pointless when you can just buy whatever would otherwise be in the bag on its own.

what you are paying for is those items but the suspense and surprise of not knowing what you'll get - like what the swag bags provided but without the rare items. No offense, but that hardly seems worth it then to me. To each his own I suppose, though.

attempt to drag down an idea that has the desires of the community at heart.I didn't say you were a 'bad person' or anything for this. I'm simply saying it's a rather pointless idea. Don't take such offense. It's nothing personal.

i am not going to respond to you're first point as you have done so already with you're second, each to their own.

i appreciate constructive criticism but frankly this was an attempt to look for solutions to everyone wanting more swag bags. now i accept that the majority might have wanted a rare item but for those that didn't, this would seem perfect for them!

Also, you are right about someone who already has memorobelia, this seems pointless but for me, i only have the books that still leaves stuff like T-shirts, soundtracks, action figures and other goodies open for me to make use of.

I know you're comments are directed at the idea and my responses might have seemed hostile, apologies as this has come accross as a personal attack, this is just an exchange of ideas, but its my attempt to shrug off this aspect of the discussion to focus on solutions. I appreciate the flaws, but rather than just pointing out how this idea is not a good one (in your opinion) would you like to help me in trying to help those who felt left out of the swag bag event?
