Ender series.
By Orson Scott Card. Anyone who likes the Halo books needs to read the first one, Ender's game. I'm not sure if Card started the child soldier thing, but he sure did a damn fine job on this book. Really makes you think.

I've read way to many books to say I have one favorite but I will list some of the best I've read.

LOTR(of course), all books in the Shannara series (except the new one), all of the Redwall series, The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, and a lot of Sherlock Holmes.

You can't read only one or two of the series. That would be stupid.

The Halo and Starwars novels are the only books I ever WANT to read. I mean the Halo books are sweet they have snipers shooting elite's brains out through the back of their head.

Wow everyone's tastes in books are so pre-fab. Strange. I like all genre's of books, and have no true favorties.

Of course The Castle by Franz Kafka was my introduction to the world of obscure existentialist literature, thus it has a little extra symbolic value for me. I've been through many phases of interest, there is no way for me to catagorize my interests.

Hmm... My favorite books...

Belgarath the Sorcerer by David and Leigh Eddings. It's technically part of the Malloreon, but you could read it as a separate, stand alone book.

The Redemption of Athalus by David and Leigh Eddings. Awsome. The Edding's best stand alone book.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini. It's supposed to be a trillogy, but the second book isn't out yet. Goddamn him for making me wait. I just hope the second and third are as good as the frist.

The Belgariad/Malloreon series by David and Leigh Eddings. Specifically Pawn of Prophecy, Enchanter's Endgame, and Seeress of Kell. Those are, in my opinion, the best three books in the series.

The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Wizard's First Rule, Blood of the Fold, Temple of the Winds, and Faith of the Fallen were the best books so far. I hope he writes the next one soon.

The Sword of Shannara series by Terry Brooks. The Sword of Shanarra, The FIrst King of Shannara, The Scions of Shannara, The Druid of Shannara, and Antrax were my favorites in this series. Brooks is very imaginative and he evolves his world very well through out the entire series.

The Dragon Prince series by Melanie Rawn. The best books were Dragon Prince, Stronghold, and Skybowl.

The Sword Dancer series by Jennifer Roberson. I like Sword Dancer, Sword Breaker, and Sword Sworn the best.
