It isn't our shiznit anymore.

So, this isn't a goodbye. It isn't The End. Instead, it's the very beginning of a new journey that will stretch the limits of what we are capable of.
This isn't grammatically correct, and we all (hopefully) know that in literature the unnecessary capitalization of words carry a meaning the author is trying to portray.

Or am I just paranoid?

No I think there's something there. The talk about the darkness being broken by a thin strand of light seemed a little too cryptic even by Weekly update standards. I think that when we look back on this update in maybe a year or two, there'll be signs of the new IP, but there's absolutely no way of knowing right now.

Because they wanted us to see it's not the end, but is the end....

The End of Halo made by Bungie. Not the end of Bungie itself.

That does sound likely, but it won't hurt to do a little deep thinking about the paragraph. Specifically, this part:
One day, we will awaken in a wondrous new place and we will remember just what it was that drew us together at the beginning of it all.So what exactly did bring them together? Was it their first game? An ideology? An historic event?

So the new IP is GNOP OWT.

The End is commonly referenced as such in pop culture. It just means the end of everything, like the apocalypse. It's capitalized to distinguish itself from sounding like an average the end of something.

The End of Halo made by Bungie. Not the end of Bungie itself.
It is also likely Urk capitalized those words to signify that Bungie is still working on video games, but then again not capitalizing those words would have had the exact same effect:So, this isn't a goodbye. It isn't the end. Instead, it's the very beginning of a new journey that will stretch the limits of what we are capable of.I don't notice a difference in the meaning. Do you?

This is also likely.

The End, with capital T and E I would say is like "The End" in a story. A lot of people are thinking of bungie day as "The End" of something (the relation between halo and bungie), but I guess they just want to emphasize on that to say that things aren't over.

I think it's the sort of "The End" you see at the end of a film of novel.

They write it like those to give effect. Basically the reason as to why they wrote it like that is to say that it isn't Game over job done goodbye.

It means they'll be back with a vengeance!

EDIT: I should read earlier replies beforehand....Damn You SpartyBoy!!!! :)

"The End" could be used as a name for a time period or day, so he was probably using it to name a specific time.

You're just being paranoid, though. It probably doesn't mean anything.

V: I can assure you I mean you no harm.
Evey Hammond: Who are you?
V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey Hammond: Well I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.
Alas, so many quotes, so little room in the signature box.

I'm pretty sure you guys are over-thinking it. I think he capitalized it because he meant the "The End" at the end of a book.
