Despite basically stealing Gears of War 3's tagline (which otherwise would be the coincidence of the century) that was pretty well put together. I like how it had its own dialogue rather then from the games/movies and was done in its own CGI

I have to ask: will there be an actual story-line?

Just curious because I'm writing basically a multi-universe fan-fic for when I've got little to do and just to pass time. While not exclusive to SW and Halo (multi-universe, as in everything I know about) and not restricted to war scenarios (its a story with basically no end in sight that begins as a war between Star Wars and Halo, but ends up turning into a moral, political, spiritual and ethical analysis of these two universe, and later other universe from a variety of genres, and how they would interact, and how famous characters the likes of Elites and Jedi would co-exist) the very concept of universe cross-overs always picques my interest for potentially new and interesting ideas.

Its not often you see such a thing beyond comic book superhero cross-overs, and even when you do they rarely have a story (fan-games, for example, are always gameplay scenarios) so projects such as your own always intrigue me, especially since I'm confident you said something about a story-mode once on Youtube.

the game will be designed arround a story line campaign dont worry about that, IMO storyline is what makes a game not graphics :), ill do a more indepth reply to you when i can its just very late here

EDIT: Holy Sh**, your right, im telling the truth here i hadnt seen the Gears of war 3 trailer :O, i just saw it, i was like WOW, coincidence of the century much :D

and to the other person above me you have to upgrade individual mining facilitys with in mining facilities to get a decent income, but this has been made alot easier with the new version :) 1 button does all :D

Yeah, I found it very hard the first time I played. I normally start by building 8 pelicans, upgrading all the mining facilities, build lots of orbital defences and then send out fighters because it keeps enemy ships busy while I build my own fleet. Hope this helped.

the game engine is custom made, its built on the game maker 8 engine and i dont think game maker will be strong enough to handle that many 3d objects im afraid

I think the game will have to come out on Friday or Saturday instead of Thursday ive just got so much on my plate at the moment, and i want this release to get everyone to love the game and its a huge improvement over 1.0.0.0 so it will either be 15th or 16th sorry for the move forward in days guys i really am, but i would rather do this and give me a chance to scan through my code, then you guys playing the game and getting a MASSIVE bug which freezes your game end epic fight, wouldnt want that would we :)

theres a few new units also, you can play as the covies but... they are not complete and probably still have some glitches, and im also having alot of problems finding a top down image of the Malevolence(Grevious's super weapon) so the covies and cis only have one hero unit the assault carrier.

the UNSC has got some updates as well like, you can only build one razors vengeance, when it dies you can build another however, and another hero unit called the UNSC Prestige (Johnson's Carrier), it is almost the size of the UNSC Supercarrier and has pretty much the same fire power, but it also launches assault pelicans at the enemy, the assault pelicans attempt to board enemy ships and if they succeed the squads of spartans and republic commandos overpower the crew of the ship and the control of the ship is given to YOU, i stole like 2 ccs cruisers from the enemy and turned them on a covie corvette XD, you guys are gonna love V1.0.0.1

How big is the game in terms of memory and does it run on a Mac IOS?

it wont run on a mac at the moment :( future versions will

the CPU usage is ALOT less then older versions, but the memory usage hasnt improved much, you still need a decent amount of ram to have the best gaming experience :), this will be improved upon for later releases :)

While I do like the premise of UNSC + Republic Versus Covenant + CIS, is there a chance it will be UNSC + Covenant versus CIS + Republic?

Like the game but i have some problems with it.
1) For some reason it is very hard to acquired resources. The enemy seems to be able to build 3 ships while i can only build 1.( I have the mining facility upgraded all the way and have 15+ pelicans)
2) I destroyed the enemy mining facility and they still manage to build many warships. Not one but whole fleets.
3) Would like to see an upgrade building, like to upgrade armor or weapons for all your fleet.
4) Would like to be able to repair my units. I spend 15000 to make a ship and it gets destroyed and i loose all that money. (You can make it a building or something so it won't be overpowered, and it can take some time to fix large warships.)
5) Would like to have an option to target or make priorities for some of my units. (I build the Mac station and it would shoot fighters wasting shots)

I know it's just a game...but the reality is Star Wars would squash Halo if the two universes ever fought.

The new alpha you can set how much money you and your enemy starts with, so if you need more resources you can select to start with thousands of resources.

Regarding the popular concept of repairing units in the field, perhaps that could cost resources as well.

In Starcraft 2, repairing mechanical units with SCVs costs some resources itself (biologicals don't, obviously). So instead of necessarily adding in a insta-heal with no consequences, make the player pay for it. It might make them consider the ramifications of certain strategies and add a layer of economic depth to the game.

Nothing should come free, but it only makes sense to be able to repair vehicles.

I figured out an easy win strategy: build lots of pelicans and defense platforms. Then spam fighters as fast as you can.

Is that for any specific faction or any of them?

Which leads me to ask: are the 4 factions different, or are they pretty much the same? The way I had it figured, to balance the two factions, have a UNSC MAC round be amongst the most powerful weapon in the game, but make it's rate of fire slow as hell, while the main guns on other ships, like a SW ship, fire faster be weaker to compensate.

And have faction specific powers/tactics. Like how playing as the Terrans in SC is vastly different to playing as the Protoss or Swarm (I can't bring myself to say "Zerg" under normal circumstances, having grown up associating the name with Toy Story).

1. This has been fixed and you can now get resources in MUCH Faster and the reson the enemy gets ships out so much faster then you is because you can buy 5 mining facilitys but have you tried actually clicking on individual ones around the steroid, if you click on them you can upgrade individual ones infinatly :), however since not many people figured this out, it has been replace by one button on the whole asteroid which does all the upgrading for you :).

2. the enemy often has left over cash supply you can hit the home key to see how much they have, its a developer button i forgot to remove hint hint :D

3. this will definitely be added in later releases :)

4. Units can now be repaired at your shipyards.

5. that will be worked on i might make a fix for it now, believe me i know how frustrating it is, its just hard to do it with the current layout. :)

i know they would Turbo laser fire is way stronger than plasma and UNSC autocannons, however it had to be fair for both sides to make the game enjoyable :)

This was once added in early stages of development but was soon abandoned due to your units getting to powerful in the field, CIS warships will automatically repair themselves over time, this maybe re added at a later date

Im trying to make the factions unique some times the CIS and Covies feel like the UNSC and republic and its really hard to make them feel unique sometimes, im working on it the main difference with the covies and CIS is that you can bring a crap load of units into the fight for a really cheap price its just that there weaker :)

It's pretty damn fun game you got there. I played for few minutes, I had fun of halting entire fleet with few frigates with a cruiser :P

However, a bug appeared and it froze the game. I hope that next Alpha version will fix that bug and allow me to play more than ten minutes. Also, I would like that if you can add option to allow UNSC vs Covenant only or Republic vs Covenant or whatever.

Also, are you adding more maps such as: Battle of Harvest, Fall of Reach, Earth or several colonies? I can list all colonies with all pictures (possible, if I can find it) if you want me to.

Also, design of UNSC destroyer looks little strange, can you try make a model of similar destroyer like this link: Destroyer

Also, I'm sure that there's another variant of frigate, like Reach showed. I believe it was Paris-class Heavy Frigate like this: Heavy Frigate

And there's so many variations in types of classes in Covenant and UNSC Navy ships. I use Halopedian and Encyclopedia for information, maybe you can use it to help with your game to be better.
