Subject: A way to keep this kick-ass community together...

If I had one wish for Bungie.net, it would be to be able to change my username. Even if it cost me Microsoft Fun-Money, Space Bucks, or Stosh Dollars. That is all.

The return of the community weekly updates. With the coming disappearance of BWUs, our community will be missing something that sparked new interest and discussion each and (almost) every week.

So I have a proposition for all of you awesome writers that have been making these kick-ass threads for the past decade. We band together, and keep the tradition of weekly updates alive. It's been done before, and it worked well for the most part. I think it would be possible to make something awesome out of this.

And now I ask you, the community, are you up for it?

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I'll try to keep the "Where's da weakly updaet!" threads alive for added realism.

The beta is super awesome. RogueAssassin27 is now the person who got my Totodile's nickname. Hoo-hah! Relevant.inb4lock

The community makes the weekly updates? We can make threads, but it won't get much popularity because Bungie won't publish it and they don't own it.

Plus, what will we talk about? If we can get all that aside, I suggest someone start a private group and recruit. I'll join, if it happens.

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

How would we go about doing this?

^^ I lol'd. But i do think this would be a good idea.

This community isn't anywhere near as good as it used to be...it's actually quite mediocre lawlz.

What if..... youtube commentary on the lastest news and updates that Bungie post in Threads + Neogaf stuff + Speculated Rumors + Hot topics of the week?

Why haven't I thought of this before?

A written form is more accessible and more "traditionally".

We talk about the forums, what's going on, what threads people should look at and read or participate in.
Community Weekly Updates could work. The best way to do it would be to create a group and just update the news regularly, with the members of the group contributing in the forum towards the next CWU.

Wort, wort, wort!

Sounds very interesting. Let's just hope we continue to find stuff to talk about while not repeating it over and over.

  • 07.09.2011 7:59 PM PDT

Im in. Im more of an optimatch person, but lately the community forum is growing on me :)

  • 07.09.2011 8:03 PM PDT

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

Am I the only one who misread "Kick-ass" as "Kiss-ass"?

Anyways, sounds like a good idea, but it would need a bit more effort than previous incarnations of community updates, since all of them petered out after a short period of time.

V: I can assure you I mean you no harm.
Evey Hammond: Who are you?
V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey Hammond: Well I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.
Alas, so many quotes, so little room in the signature box.

Why don't you just submit it as news? I don't see why Bungie wouldn't let it fly. You'd get a lot more reads that way. Also, I might join, but I don't know how much I can contribute.

Actually, I find that I'm more invincible without pants, which is why I am not wearing any at the moment.

I love this idea. Really, this needs to happen.

So, we're making a group! To be honest, I'm very excited for this project if it lifts off. Now we just need goheels to actually make the group.

Or I can make it. What should we call it?

We could possibly put together Community Game Nights and update with carnage stats. Then conduct simple contests each week. Sounds like a winner, how 'bout it?

Community Match-ups maybe? We put up a roster each week and have set times to start up Customs.

everybody listen to mac2po he is 100% right

I'm up for helping out with a group and doing this. It would be interesting.

I always look forward to Community Joe interviews, so an weekly update would be nice, you know?

Like this idea a lot, but I feel that it should be written on the forums. We could do a youtube commentary to go with it though.

Considering my mom scoffed when I asked to get a BBBB rather than Microsoft Points for just five bucks more... This'll be fun. "But it's game night mom!"

Can't wait for the first Community Match night.

As long as people play the games, make screenshots and videos, design maps and game types, etc. there will be things to update. I read it, I'm sure you all read it too, Halo is in great hands...yours. This is what we make of it.
