Subject: See You Starside- Per Audacia Ad Astra (New Game Speculation)

To those who much is given; much is lost.

After reading this new update, it was just as bittersweet as they said it was going to be. But the way they send out Halo with their hearts, and bring in this new world is just tantalizing. How many times has Urk hinted that they are going to reveal their new world? Many times. I thought yesterday was going to be the day. Now we just have to sit and imagine what is to come.

"Wouldn't it be great if we could make a world that was always there for you? Wow. That would be great." - Joseph Staten.

What is coming? I don't think they are building a new traditional universe, it's obvious they are doing something entirely new. How new? What will this define in games, and technology? And what is this picture hinting to? Per Audacia Ad Astra's closest translation is "By Daring To The Stars"

MMO FPS =! MMORPG. I for one am excited by a large, interactive expanding MMO shooter in a sci fi universe. I mean, think if we had something like that in the Halo universe...we could see so many unexplored aspects like Covenant worlds and culture or the Outer Colonies, etc, and large amounts of user generated content, armor, weapons, etc. So much potential and mixing this with a brand new huge story universe is extremely exciting!

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Calling it now, space pirates.

I'm A RETARD!!!!

Pic seems to be centered on Ascension island in the Southern Atlantic inbetween South America and Arfica. I do not know if this will be of any significance...

Yea... you're right, the map does seem to be there. It would make sense, considering they have used Ascension multiple times in name.

Look up their s7upfh on Bungie Aerospace and codenamed Crimson. If Crimson's their next piece of universe then it looks to me like their making a steam punk or western like game. But; then again, I'm a horrible guesser.

BTW... Marxisms better... Staten... lulz.

Im txgrim4 (Grim, Grimmy, Grimsta), i have been playing xboxlive for 9 years, evr since day 1 of Halo:CE til now. I live in Texas, Play Football, and cant wait for Halo 4!

The new game is supposivley called "Destiny". Its also supposivley an MMOFPS, or just FPS. Crimsom is a moblie thing of theres

"On the seventh day, god did not rest, but rather he created 64 player multiplayer!"

Maybe they're going to take a Planetside approach to their next game... mmofps :)

You guys seem to be desperate to find some type of hint at their next game in this.

I'm confident there is none. Has anybody considered the possibility that when they say Per audacia ad astra they're just using a fairly stylish title for saying goodbye?

And Crimson is NOT their next project. It's the first title we know of to be developed utilizing Aerospace, if I'm not mistaken.

Dude, check the latest Bungie.net news "See you starside".
In it they clearly mention making a new game universe.

MMO's are the work of the devil. I would loose a lot of respect for them, if they make a "Pay monthly to play" type game.

Considering it's for the PS3, 360, and PC, I doubt it'll be a traditional MMO.

Hey sir, no, it is not a stylish way of saying goodbye since this is NOT the first time they have used this saying.

Well from that quote, the first thing that comes to my mind is the mobile platform. Maybe this project will span consoles and mobile devices (to an extent)?

  • 07.08.2011 3:09 PM PDT

Waffles > Pancakes. End of story.
I <3 Bungie :)

My mind is exploding with all of the different possibilities for their next project.. I can't wait to see what becomes of Bungie. Saying goodbye to Halo was necessary for them to move onto something bigger, better, and hopefully full of ambition. I look forward to the future :)

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Seriously Oak, Ive been doing this -blam!- for 16 years, gimmie my Friggen starter Pokemon and dont call me till im the champion! ¬_¬

per audacia ad astra

Had an attempt at a translation, and it literally just comes out with "Audacity" and "Astra"

So essentially, Courage in Space, the foundation of both the notable successes of Bungie's Universe's, where a lone hero fights courageously amongst the stars

Though the quote itself suggests something renaissance-ish, either way, it's got potential, and lets hope Bungie dominate the market as they rightfully should c:
