I hope this is the place to put this, i dont normally bother posting.
If you go on to www.officialxboxmagazine.co.uk you will see a story about a new game coming out, made with a big part of the halo engine. im not sure if this is halo 2 or 1 but i dont think you guys know about this, so now you do!
I just realised that most of you cant read it, so here it is:
"Halo founder goes it alone to produce a brand new game. And he's taking a chunk of the original Halo code with him...
No sooner is Halo 2 gearing up for its UK release (November 11th), but more news come our way from the Halo camp regarding a new Halo-based game.
Wideload Games, formed by one of Bungie’s founders Alex Seropian has just signed a deal to produce games for Aspyr Media, a company specialising in publishing games for the Mac. Although the company is relatively small, Seropian claims to have huge confidence in the team, saying they were really focused on his ideas.
Although no mention of the game’s title, let alone the content, has been released, we do know the first Wideload game will use the Halo engine, although the similarities end there.
Seropian has said that although you’ll recognise the quality of the title in so much as it shares the same feel as Halo, we won’t be playing it and screaming that its identical.
“It will be a very different game”, Seropian has said, and presumably, it’ll be a very good one at that. Although that’s all the information he’s given, it’s enough to get our trigger fingers twitching even more. The prospect of having both a Halo sequel, and a Halo off-spring in the pipeline is enough to make us tremble in anticipation.
Rest assured, we’ll have more news as soon as it comes in, but here’s a question worth asking… will we see it on Xbox? With the developer a main Mac supporter, will Microsoft be in contention at all? Fingers, legs, arms, and sniper-rifles crossed."
