In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Well, Bungie is beginning a new and I think we should to.

By that, I mean our moderation history. When the forums get updated, I think everyone's moderation history (besides people who are Perma banned) should be erased.

Kind of like as a fresh start on the forums.

What do you guys think?

Please discuss and thank you.

I've been busy... with stuff...

But seriously, the history is there so moderators know what each member has done in the past so they can appropriately handle a situation. Somebody that breaks a rule for the first time shouldn't be treated the same as somebody that has broken that rule multiple times in the past.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Haha. No.

Oh come on. Don't you want to go back to the old days where we were keeping notes in Word and Excel on members to keeps tabs on them?

The fires are burning, I'm fire, never tire
Slay warriors in the forests, and on hire

I heard my history is so long that my beginnings has been lost...

Bungie doesn't have a server large enough to keep all of your history.

This would be cool. I only have one ban, but I know others who have silly bans that shouldn't be relevant now.

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

I'm going out on a limb and guessing this suggestion stems from a recent ban of yours.

What purpose would erasing one's ban history serve? You broke the rules, and you served the punishment, deleting the records of these instances doesn't change anything. From what I've heard, it also helps moderators recognize repeat offenders and adjust their ban accordingly.

There's really no reason to want your ban history cleared, unless you're one of the aforementioned repeat offenders who hope to get off easy next time you break the rules.

"Shouldn't". If only that were the reality.

I really think that moderators should ban on a case by case basis. Were they there at the last ban? Was the ban justified? What were the circumstances? Was the moderators decision affected by anything? Was that ban discussed or appealed with a "Yeah, I see your point and maybe I was harsh..." response?

I think with the number of moderators we have and the differences or inconsistencies between them that previous bans should have little to no bearing on the situation at hand.

Mods aren't always right. Just like everyone else they make mistakes, but your ban history doesn't reflect that.

The ban histor also has the url in it so the moderator can actually open up the previous offending post and make the call themselves. Now I cannot tell you if they do that is what it is there for.

Well chances are they don't... I'm assuming here, but if they're going to ban someone for flaming, and they see flaming in their history, then they're probably just going to slap on a few extra days for that.

Even if they did do a little research, that only shows them the context of the ban in relation to one thread. It still leaves that moderators mood and discussion between the mod and the banned user out of the equation.

No, Perma banned people get no love.

They still have to serve their ban, for eternity.

Ok. I will level with you. I may get banned for this but I will tell you how the moderators hand out their bans.

It is exactly like this. As you can see it is totally unbiased.
