I fear a perma ban among other things.

Then don't break the rules and then you won't be perma banned, ever.

That's one of the dumbest things I've heard all day.

Well if it is the dumbest thing you heard today, it can't be that bad.
Considering that I watched all of coppercab's videos, then I beg to differ.

This has nothing to do with the community, OP just wants his ban history (especially his recent 7 day) erased so that he can get to mythic faster.

That, or so he can make another thread about his swag bag and the mods won't see he was banned for making too many.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Want a fresh start? Create a new account.

Oh wait, but that will mean that your positive history is then gone.

That's the point. You take the good with the bad and they both combine into what and who you are. Parents can give second chances and fresh starts, but life rarely does.

For example, I would LOVE for my historical interactions with the law enforcement community and the legal system to be erased from existence. But that isn't going to happen. Those interactions happened, they are MY history and I can't make them go away.

To think that such a thing is feasible, fair, or likely? Unrealistic and immature thought process.

But why don't we take the ban history, and push it somewhere else?

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

How about the mods just ban everyone for a month, then everyone will be a member. :P

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Even if he didn't hear a single dumb thing all day, you would have no way of knowing how dumb he thinks this idea is from his post.

You're asking people to state which non-released game they like better?

It's like asking a virgin whether they like being on top or on bottom.

Well, if that isn't a pleasant surprise I couldn't begin to tell you what is: My favourite mod is still here; I thought you left a long time ago. I, obviously, don't keep up with the times to well. Regardless, I'm pretty happy with this.

I think this was more emotional than logical, with a poor attempt at rationalization.

Either way I think histories should stay.

That's because you're over-thinking it. You're putting in too many words. The logical explanation is just 'Because,' not 'because Bungie is.'

I like how criminal records are being compared to Bungie.net ban records in this thread. Sycophancy can really be corrupting.

I don't see any reasoning to this. Oh, and Bungie's not starting off new... they're making more games. Like a normal game company.

In response to the original post:

I know this will probably be an iteration of a previous post, but maybe this could be more clear if a previous post was foggy. The way I see it is that I don't need to worry very much in regards to my ban history, and, even without thought, you have to realize that not only is it a tool to help determine what actions should be taken, but it is a necessity in order to determine the length of action taken.

My last ban, although I still disagree with it, was for "rank baiting." Now, if I remember correctly, it wasn't for very long at all, but it was because I had never been in that situation before. You can imagine it as disobeying your parents when you clearly know you shouldn't be, i.e digging through your parents belongings as a curious child. You do know the rules so when you are caught you will be punished, but if this was only the first time they will try to be lenient. Imagine, if you will, that this was the third time you'd been caught rummaging through your parents things. You deserve to be punished more severely if you ever have a chance in learning your lesson because your punishment before clearly wasn't enough.

If I wasn't clear with my simile then I should merely say that doing that same wrong thing twice is twice as wrong so you deserve twice, so-to-speak, the punishment for doing it. Without history this can't be decided.

I hope that was clear enough, otherwise it was a large waste of text. I know that we all mature and learn from our wrong-doings, and, although wonderful as it may be that we are a better person, we don't want to remember being wrong. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for not wanting to seem as if I'd ever done wrong and forgetting that part in my past, but I know it is necessary to show: I know it is a tool they need.

~B.B
RIP, 1982-2010

Since organized communities are usually more enjoyable, you should take your time to read the forum rules to save yourself some trouble and help keep the forums clean :-)

You know, even if your ban history is 'erased', history does have a tendency to repeat itself. Especially when you're dealing with the same person in the same setting, doing the same thing...

If you look at it that way, it's simple, but obvious that there's no real point to clearing everyone's history. Unless you can give a logical list of reasons why this should happen, you don't really have a case or argument.

Oh, and Recon gets +1 for real-life supporting examples :)

Most likely true. He thinks by getting Mythic people will respect him more.
