If you think about it, Bungie is the gleaming idol of what all game studios should be. They created the world's most popular and famous video game to date (besides Mario). No series has yet come close to the amount of copies all of the Halo games have sold. I am very sad to see them leave; it's the end of a glorious chapter. But what about you?

Make that three. I don't really care, and looking at Reach, I'd say 343 is more into Halo than Bungie is.

Bungie is in no way departing. They are only shaving off their Halo epidermis.

Take my word that Bungie is not a mere weakling, subject to failure at the end of a good trilogy, their next project, however clandestine at the moment, will be better.

Join 343 and stick to Halo, or stick to Bungie and find out in the near future what the future might bring. There is no need to say goodbye for the later.

The only thing Reach was mission was Frank O'Connor. But Halo 4 will lack Bungie.

I even heard that the terminals in Halo CEA will have the kind of art that they had in The mona lisa and Headhunter and Halo legends, if thats true i will flip.

I love Bungie and I'm happy they're leaving Halo. Halo has been left in good hands and if a franchise is left with the same developer for to long it gets stale. Let developers with new and fresh ideas take the reins.

Plus Bungie is starting a new IP which I'm sure will be great.

Fortune favors the Bold

I mean yea, as much as I love bungie, the only games which I think were amazing were halo 1 and halo 2. Halo 3 was mediocre, Reach was decent. Don't even get me started on ODST... if you can even call ODST a game

Personally, no. Not really, anyway. Bungie is made up of people who are becoming bored of Halo, it seems. Most of them have been making it for ten years straight, I think it would get pretty boring too working on the same universe every single year.

Basically, I'd like to see them work on some new universes where they can stretch their creative minds further then the boundaries of the Haloverse.

Whereas 343Industries is made up of Halo fans, basically. They will most likely continue on Halo much better then Bungie would since the Haloverse would be growing stale to them.

So, no. I want to see Bungie do different things/IPs. I want to see their creative minds think outside of the box for a change and not be confined to the Haloverse. This is a great opportunity for them to do just that.

And 343 will continue on the Halo legacy well, hopefully.

Bungie made Halo what it is today. A massive interesting universe filled with amazing games, books, comics, locations, and characters.

But they need to move on. This is a perfect move by Bungie and I am excited to see what they can do in the future. I'm a Bungie fan before a Halo fan. And I'll stay that way.

I keep seeing people post this. Frankie has left Bungie and now works at 343i. Jason Jones, however, (and I hope that's whom you're referring to) still works at Bungie. He co-founded the studio.

Shotgun Shotgun Damnit

It is very sad but it will give the halo franchise a chance to grow more

  • 07.10.2011 11:06 AM PDT

question everything...truth has no pedigree

They're not going anywhere. It's just that future Halo games are being made by another studio.

Stick around and you'll see more from Bungie.

I think them moving on to another project shows a lot of maturity.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Sort of. This is because I'm happy they won't be tied down by Microsoft and can make new games, but sad they are leaving a great story into the hands of 4 people and a whole bunch of strangers.

I've got a tale that's never been told. Stick to script and handle your soul. I've got a tale that's never been, never been, never been, never been told.

If by leaving, you mean leaving Halo, possibly a little sad. I'd say you should be focused on what they'll bring to the table next. But I guess that really only counts if you're a Bungie fan, and not just a Halo fan.

AFK: Away from Kontroller. Don't do it or you'll get the living crap smacked out of you by the Banhammer. If you disagree with any of this, you are just bad at Mortal Kombat.

Yes but i am also happy for Bungie. Now they can focus on creating new universes and new ideas for us, the gamer.

You can definitively tell by the quality of Halo: Reach that it was rushed. They wanted to start this large new universe from the start [Halo: Reach production], and I personally congratulate them for taking a step in an unknown path.
