I love Halo. I love Bungie. I've been around Bungie since Oni, so yes, I did - at some point - feel sad that they were leaving the Halo series.
I, however, am ready to see what Bungie is capable of when they aren't tied down to sticking to past games. Zero hype. Respawn. Its not game over, its something far better. I believe the Bungie team, especially the veterans, and raring to go. Its like a new tomorrow for these guys especially. Besides, lets face it...Halo 2, 3, and Reach as games were average. It was fun, and allowed for huge customization, but for gameplay and set pieces it was average. Not much innovation. Halo was destined to be a primarily multiplayer game, its just too bad that the campaigns don't follow the same level of quality that the millions of pages of fanfiction and universe novels do.
Now Bungie can blow our minds, just like they did ten years go, on November 15, 2001.
I have low standards for Halo 4. 343 Studios botched Halo Wars, and no self-respecting RTS or Halo fan can deny that. I would play Halo 4 because I want to see my old friend Master Chief again, but not because I believe it will be good. Keep your spirits in check people. Openly believe that Halo 4 will suck, but don't smother that little glimmer of hope that it could break boundaries.
