So I started playing some marathon 2 after I downloaded it recently. I played the first level where you fought alongside your fellow BOBs, and after all the enemies were cleared in the area, they teleported. I heard one of the BOBs say

"See you starside".

That's a little strange. Bungie has been saying that quite a few times before, recently, like in the end of their farewell to halo in the halo reach credits, and in the end of their last update (which is also entitled: see you starside).
I'm pretty sure we're all interpreting that as some sort of hint of their next new project (which was previously thought to be Bungie Aerospace, and it sorta made sense).

So yeah. I'm pretty sure the quote "see you starside" has a pretty big relation to their next project, and hearing it in marathon 2: durandal, what I'm speculating, is that their next new project is a re-imagination (or spiritual successor) to marathon rather than a remake of the marathon series, something that would have a heavy essence of marathon (more than halo had), but not be just the marathon story with new graphics.

Now this is the first time I've heard this, and I'm pretty sure many of you who have played marathon already know of this, and I'm not sure if people have written of this before, but this is for the people who have not seen this yet.

Actually, it's not strange at all.

From Pathways into Darkness to Marathon unto Halo, Bungie has linked their mysticism together creating what is known as the "Bungie lore."

Coming from a fan since the beginning, I'm glad to see the reemergence of enlightenment, or rather, the consumption of the path...

yeah, I guess I was just missing the perspective of being a bungie fan from the very beginning.

Here, this might prove helpful.

It is a link to the "Bungie lore" page on Bungiepedia. Perhaps not the best factual findings, but it should provide you with some astonishing insight to what there is embedded within the Bungie titles.

Would you like to know more?

EDIT: (Broken link)
