I remembered this again recently and decided to check it out again. If you click on the spiral on the mission icefly website a disjointed video comes up with a list of the people who have found the 'packages' which are part of the viral campaign, possibly for Halo 4.

Unless one package hasn't yet been found, (it says found by: *******) then all are complete. The video flashes the website www.survivalcode.com/thegenesis which loads when you click the video.

However, the website does not load on my computer. Does it work for anyone else or is the viral campaign not yet complete in it's current phase? ie: one package has not yet been found.

I will say this about the viral campaign known as Icefly; 5Gum really put a lot of effort into it.

Seriously though, most likely has nothing to do with Halo 4. It's for 5Gum. They have a new game on their website, I believe.

I'll take a look.

I recall somewhere on these forums a thread about Destiny hints all over the 5gum adverts, and that gum packs were notorious for doing things like this.

I too remember a mega thread and that picture. I think it was just 5gum being 5gum. Making there gum sound awesome and delicious. "Stimulate your senses!" and "It's your Destiny!" all sound like 5gum to me.

Anyway, if it has anything to do with an AAA game release I would be very shocked to say the least.

I wouldn't.

The company did the Halo 3 (or ODST?) viral campaign too, I wouldn't be surprised if they stuck to the series. I just got the video to work, turned out it needed time to load, and it says "we need heroes, seers, sages" (paraphrased, I can't remember :P)

Heroes: SPARTANS? Considering the likeliness of a new enemy which is insanely powerful (check out some Mendicant Bias threads for clues to the 'path ahead')
If the planet in the Halo 4 trailer is indeed Onyx (which I doubt) then it could have SPARTANS inside, meaning more heroes.

Also, Sages, I couldn't help it, but Sage. (As in, the guy with the awesome beard)
That's very tenuous ground, but still :P

1) how many people actually check the Flood forums :P
2) It's not on the front page, so I haven't read it and I'm not going to look for it.

It's the second most popular forum on the site, next to the Reach forum. So, a lot.

And, are you referring to Halo 2's marketing campaign (I Love Bees)? Because, yes, that was made by the same company doing this viral campaign.

So? That's what they do as a company. They've done stuff like this for many different companies. Just because it mentions a hero or something doesn't mean it has ANYTHING to do with Halo (or any game for that matter).

I agree that it is probably a viral campaign for 5 Gum, but there is the slightest possiblity that it's for H4. Mostly because of the enormous similarity between the names Ilovebees and mission Icefly. (And also, why would 5 Gum need a viral campaign?)

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

I saw those videos, it doesn't look like Halo at all. I don't know why it became so popular in the Waypoint forums

Lol! Obviously you don't get it, too young when Halo 2 was around huh?

Yes, that's the campaign, Ilovebees

point is, halo4 is probably the best upcoming halo game to go viral for, and this company has already done a viral campaign for halo in the past.

iirc, ilovebees looked nothing like halo either, that's the point of a viral campaign

Also, the fact that the gum advert had destiny spelled out in it's typeface kind of hints that it could be a campaign for Bungie's new IP. (Depending on who is employing the marketing company at the moment)

And as someone said above, who would go through this much trouble for chewing gum?

'

Stop it. Urk already said that this has nothing to do with Bungie. Believe it or not, destiny is a fairly common word used in media.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

The ice fly was in the 5 Gum commercial, it's for gum.
