Subject: Frankie, other Ex-Bungie employees at 343 and Jason Jones

Bungie.net is the only website that has been able to hold my interest for such a long period of time, and I can only imagine there are still many years to come.

Whatever Frankie made Mister Chief, good enough for me.

You really think that Jason Jones, the founder of Bungie, would leave his company to join 343 Industries?

No, I don't. I've just noticed that some people think that Jones is at 343 now.

It is very hard for me to hate or even dislike things. I am cool with just about anything.

Even though this should be common knowledge, a lot of people think that almost all of the people that worked on Halo CE now work at 343. I have no idea why...

It is the same people that think 343i will be better at Bungie at making Halo.

I don't know, 343i has to earn my respect as a dev, they haven't done anything yet.

Halo CEA will be the first steps to that, how can you screw up an EXACT remake?

You are so damn stupid.

343i has impressed me purely from it's work of Halo Waypoint. Halo waypoint is a wonderful tool that acts as a Halo Hub, and it was spectacular considering it is non-profit.

And there are just as much ways to screw up a remake than a regular full game.

You've got a lot to learn.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Do they know in-depth knowledge of Halo canon, YES!

Game wise, I have never seen them make anything for an actual video game other than machinimas and vids.

It is going to take a lot to trust something that was once Bungie's to be good from 343i.

But, I have confidence, but again, I have to see.

Interesting, I wonder what he designed in Reach.

Drinking contest with the Webmaster, it's the only logical explanation.

Most of this is just common knowledge.

Some people are just plain ignorant.
I don't know if you are talking about me, or the people that don't know any of these stuff. That or you used the term incorrectly.

But he's my thoughts. Frankie, most people know that he worked at Bungie and now he is the lead at 343i and the lead in all things Halo.

I would of assumed that most people (at least people who know who Jason Jones is) would understand that he is not at 343i. I've never seen anyone say he was. I don't know why people would think that, he's been at Bungie for the past 20 years, and from what I understand despises Microsoft. I can understand about people not knowing that he quit project lead after Halo 2 (thus the term "most").

And yes, 343i does have some Bungie employees. I would assume most people would know this. And since this is a fact giving thread.

The three ex-Bungie employees are:
Frankie (duh)
Shishka
Vic Deleon

Jason Jones wrote about half the story of Marathon Trilogy and most of the Myth: TFL.

Jason Jones is a co-founder of Bungie with Alex Seropian. One of the things that Jason liked about Alex is that Alex was very tight with money, and would never waste any money where they didn't have to.

Jason Jones was initially excited to work at Microsoft because he would be able to develop on the XBOX.

Only three current employee's have worked on games as far as Myth: TFL. Jason Jones, Robt McLees and Marty O'Donnell. Marty wasn't officially a Bungie employee, but did contract work and developed the OST for Myth: TFL.

Interesting, I wonder what he designed in Reach.
Presumably nothing Halo related since Halo 2. Depends on what you mean by "designed". I remember in a podcast someone saying that he sat down with all the designers of Halo 3 and played through their missions. It was near the end where they could make a significant change to the mission. He would give feedback on the mission and tell them how to improve it.

Other then that, not really designing anything. People say that he's been working on the new project after Halo 2 and before Halo 3.

Well, I think some things need to be clarified:

Frankie isn't that mastermind behind the Halo series some people here are considering him to be. He joined Bungie after Halo 1. During the development of Halo 2 he was only active on Bungie.net and for Halo 3 he was Managing Editor.

Jason Jones still works at Bungie and didn't go to 343. He just dropped the role of Project Lead after Halo 2 and wasn't involved in Halo 3 or ODST. But for Halo Reach he served as a Designer. Maybe he will take the position of Project Lead again for Bungie's next game.

Look it up: http://www.halopedian.com/Credits

In addition to Frankie there are only three or four other Ex-Bungie employees working at 343. Like Frankie they didn't have leading positions at Bungie and most of them I think weren't there before Halo 2.

I just wanted to say that.

Anyone who has been on the forums as long as Halo 2 knows this pretty well. Also Frankie joined Bungie when work on Halo 2 was coming to an end and during Halo 3 he was a managing editor for Bungie.net and marketing material. Anyways, I wish he was still around with Bungie because he was easily one of the most funniest of Bungie employees.

Edit: I also understand where the OP is coming from. A lot of people think Frankie and ex-Bungie employees that worked on Halo 1 are now working for 343i. This couldn't be any further away from the truth.

READ IT.

I won the Star. With this on Week 18.

Jason Jones has been working on their next IP for years... I believe he was also in the first 8-10 people who came together to plan Halo Reach after Halo 3 was released.

Jason Jones is the longest running Bungie Employee/er. Meaning he would have had ultimate say in all things, no? Even if he wasn't involved in the overall development of Halo 3 and ODST, he would of still had the odd input.
