Subject: Am I the first one to notice this?

2007 - Halo 3
2008ish, close enough - Halo Wars
2009 - Halo 3: ODST
2010 - Halo: Reach
2011 - Halo: Anniversary
2012 - Halo 4

Microsoft has been releasing a new Halo game every year for six years now, is this a new trend they're starting? Will there be a new Halo game (Halo Wars 2?) in 2013?

I highly doubt it, because they make games every three years, aside from ODST.

And enseble studios that made Halo Wars is gone... :(

I thought Halo 3: ODST was 2008, and Halo Wars was 2009.

Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best; it removes all that is base. All men are afraid in battle. The coward is the one who lets his fear overcome his sense of duty. Duty is the essence of manhood.
-George S. Patton

Nah, I think its just an anomaly.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Coincidental with Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach, on purpose with Halo: CEA and Halo 4.

September 22, 2009 ODST
February 26, 2009 Halo Wars

They both were 2009.

Space. The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of Murphy's Laws on the StarShip Enterprise

Halo 1 - 2001
Halo 2 - 2004
Halo 3 - 2007
Halo Wars - 2008
Halo ODST - 2009
Halo Reach - 2010
Halo CEA - 2011
Halo 4 - 2012

Microsoft are starting to milk the franchise, due to them owning it, and wanting more books and games etc.

(Looks at list)...Wow.
All the sudden they just come out year after year, unlike Halo 1,2,and 3, which were three years apart.

Do you want me to systematically murder the thread?!

Technically, ODST is just an expansion on Halo 3. Halo Wars wasn't made by Bungie and is an RTS and shouldn't count. Halo CEA will just wok as an expansion to reach too (sorta). So it's 2-3 years before the next big game in the series comes out.

  • 07.10.2011 12:48 PM PDT

Hmmm, I don't know what to say...

Halo Wars and Halo 3: ODST were both released in 2009. Halo Wars in February or so, ODST on September 22. I remember pre-ordering and picking up both that year.

Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

Yes OP, I can almost guarantee that this will be the new trend. They will do to the Halo Franchise what they did to the Alien Franchise.

I fail to see how no more Halo Wars is a bad thing?

To be fair, at first only one developer made halo, then ensemble came and went, now bungie is gone.

The games will thin out after CEA, because only 343 is making halo now.

I think he is sad that Ensemble is gone. Honestly, if Ensemble would have made HW like AoE2, it would have been Godlike. W/e their reasoning was to make it the way they did is illogical.

It was not garb! It was fun!
And I've played Age of Empires: Conquorers, and Halo Wars was nothing like it.
