Subject: Would you want to play as an ODST for parts of Halo 4?

Tell me how on earth it's possible that the ODST's ended up there with chief?

  • 07.10.2011 5:54 PM PDT

Taylor Gang! 420

How about the ODST campaign involves making contact with the spirit of fire on a shield world and etc...

The Elite campaign could focus on the arbiter and their engagements with scattered covenant forces

Then the spartan campaign would be focussed on the chief(duh) and where ever he is

Did you even read what I posted with the poll? Cortana sent out a distress call in the end of Halo 3. The Chief has been in a cryogenic state for a long time! Dare is in Naval Intelligence. The Department of Naval Intelligence picks up the signal and sends Dare to investigate. She takes her boy-toy, Buck, and his squad plus a whole platoon of ODSTs with her. How difficult was that? Part of that was part of what I already wrote which I'm sure you didn't read.

That would be a great idea; however, the Elites are probably not even part of the next game. More than likely, your enemy will be the forerunners.

You think they will go on that planet to look for Chief?

Actually, I find that I'm more invincible without pants, which is why I am not wearing any at the moment.

Im all for this, I loved Halo 2s split campaign.

Probably inside it. I heard the Forerunner planets have a defensive shell outside with an actual planet on the inside, I think also protected by Halo Ring-like structures. They would be looking for the Chief if they make it inside because Cortana sent out a "DISTRESS SIGNAL." With them tracing it to Cortana, they will expect the Chief to be with her. They will be searching for the Chief, but also Cortana.

That is actully a good theory, maybe in halo 5 but i don't think so on 4.

You can call it a theory, but I call it a well-put-together wish list! I just want to see the return of Buck's squad of ODSTs. They are my favorite characters (as I have stated ALOT!)!

I also thought about this to make the ODSTs "stronger" in a sense. Don't give them shields, but give them an ARMOR METER that measure their armor's effectiveness. Basically, an extra bar of health or two that can only be regenerated by a health pack.

You didn't see to much of Mickey though.

What kind of soldier is Dare btw?

Sorry but I have seen that word alot. What is a cannon? Also, all they really say about dare is that she works in Naval Intelligence. She is kind of a mystery character.

Then we can get more story on her on this one.

Canon is the facts of Halo, like i've been debating about in the trailer of CEA you use MA37 and not the MA5B as you used in Halo 1, it brakes Canon.

OK then. I don't think so because I'm pretty sure Buck's squad and maybe Dare are unique to Halo 3: ODST and do not appear in any book. That also means that they do not appear on the forerunner planet, but what the heck! I do not follow the books. I just use information I look up and receive from the games. But if the UNSC did send troops in search off Cortana's sugnal this would make sense. Also it could be kind of a "Black Op." Kind of like how the ODSTs were supposed to land on the Prophet's ship, but Dare was secretly pulling them off on a side mission. This could be another one of Dare's secret missions. Also, maybe the drop shells could be so small they are undetectable by the forerunner planet shell giving the ODSTs direct entrance. Hopefully, you understood all of that!

Why would they secretly look for Chief?

Good point. Maybe they don't want to gather attention in case it is a threat or something in order to keep the media unaware. Do you know what the books say happened after the events of Halo 3?

No way! The main Halo series as in Halo 1 2 and 3 is for the chief and the chief alone (except of course the few Arbitar levels in Halo 2 which in all honesty kinda ruined it for me I mean dont get me wrong I love the Arbitar but those levels just werent my style). Adding in an ODST sidekick or hell even an ODST sidestory would completely mess it up for alot of people.

They already did it with Halo 3:ODST begin expansion to Halo 3, just on a new disc like Fallout New Vegas is expansion to Fallout 3.

Obviously it didn't go back to normal if they are making another trilogy. And personally I liked the "best of both worlds." Lets us know how and why the Arbiter switched sides.

Thats all well and good but any game with the chief in it should be just the chief. It would ruin it if they brought in another character that wasnt long term. And the chief doesnt need a sidekick so unless the ODST is Badass, Black and immune to flood A.K.A. johnson then there should be only chief
